Congratulations Joe! If you can do that with subjects you are not comfortable with, imagine how you will do when they are in your area of expertise! Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Most moles are not cancerous, any doubts, please check next time you visit your GP.

Joe's first uni exam today, immediate results as soon as he finished. He was paranoid he would fail miserably as a) he is not great at exam stress/noises in exam halls/different to normal setting and b) it was in a programming language that less than 2 months ago he knew absolutely nothing about and was playing catch up to his peers with.
He not only passed the exam but did so in great style.
:T:j:T:j:T:j:T:jDo you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. (Link permitted by forum team)
Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0 -
Merry Christmas and happy new year everyone!! Hope you all had a lovely, restful break.
I've been over in France for a month now - can't believe how quickly it's gone! We had the crazy storm here too only in shut the mountain for 2 days and caused a bunch of avalanches.
Hope everyone is well0 -

He'll find out soon, another exam on Wednesday and this time a subject he is very comfortable with and with the bonus that it plays to his strengths, history and remembering dates...he has an almost photographic memory when it comes to dates of events (generally political history/general history though rather than technology!)
Just hope he doesn't become too over confident going into the exam and come a cropper. We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.

Take each day as it comes. Accept you can have good days and bad days. You had one isolated instance that set you right back, but that won't happen every day.
Write things down for the doctor if that is easier.

PN, as you know Josh has Aspergers so I understand the communication difficulties that are more associated with that than other spectrum disorders. I know I live many miles away so can't be the 'normal' person with you but I can always be your 'normal' person via private message to help guide you through and give advice if you need it.
Also re the need for diagnosis, I get it completely. We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
