Isn't it funny that we have such different ideas! I think the funeral is for the benefit of the survivors, as the deceased isn't there in any meaningful sense.

Well, the relatives can have a get-together thing if they want, can't stop that, just not with the deceased there, iyswim.

There was a similar discussion on a thread about organ donation, and my feeling is that what an individual wants done with their body, be it for organ donation, for cremation/burial/funeral, or for disposal of their assets (i.e. Wills) should be up to them (within confines of law, obviously).

    That's just me, though. :)

Ivy, if you'd rather this wasn't discussed, please say, and I'll delete. :A

I find it comforting to think that the deceased is up above at least aware that a crowd of loved ones have gathered to remember them.

    Security check and developed vetting.

OH holds a much more basic form of clearance for work however in government SC is the most common where DV (effectively everything) is IIRC quite rare in comparison.

De lurking to say that I have DV clearance - had SC before that. Yes it's expensive to have done (by your employer usually)

I's SO intrusive into your personal life that we get paid an extra amount each month in recognition of that.
Mortgage free as of 10/02/2015. Every brick and blade of grass belongs to meeeee. :j

The spirit who's into house renovations? If so, that thread keeps updating randomly from time to time.
