I was wondering where you were, Pyxis, then remembered you saying you'd be am-dramming for a few days. Glad you had a good time :)

Yes, usually when I'm away, there is some time either early morning or lateish evening to get online for half an hour at least, but this time it was impossible........ stuff went on late into the night, and then there were early starts elsewhere and stuff to get ready for said early starts, and although I had my iPad with me, it never even got turned on.

That was kind, Pastures! I'm sure they'll be grateful that you noticed.

It's doing things like that, that make for a nice community.

So, do you have noxious kids in the new houses too?
    :(:(:(:(

    That's something, I suppose.

With the other (new) lot, I do recommend that if anything starts being really annoying, that you have a little quiet word and try to nip it in the bud.
It's bad enough when it's children who have a 'right' to be in your area, without it also being others who don't.

But they won't know if it's annoying, unless you say so.
Scary thing to do, I know, but done early on, would help to stop it escalating into a major annoyance. :A

    I know. :(

Unfortunately, a lot of people think that if no-one says anything, then everyone must be ok with (whatever they are doing).

Either through sheer pig-ignorance, or through testing the boundaries.
Either of those might respond to a gentle word.

There will, though, always be some who, whatever you say to them, will just keep on doing whatever it is, because it suits them and sod anyone else. :(
I've no idea how to deal with that type.:(

Good start to the soon to be winter...I have pneumonia which has also reignited my what was dormant asthma. I'm now rattling with antibiotics and steroids and the proud owner of inhalers again.
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

Oh Sue, that's miserable. Have you got anyone who can look after you while you are poorly?
Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Most moles are not cancerous, any doubts, please check next time you visit your GP.

    In a word? No.

I'll be ok, last time I had it, it was much much worse (it was caught earlier this time) and I had a baby to look after and failing kidneys. Bearing in mind I was horrendous at the weekend too and still managed to go in and do my shift at work .

I wouldn't know what to do with myself if I had someone to play nursemaid, I've always just had to get on with it.

Oh Sue! ((((((((((((((Sue))))))))))))))) (while wearing sterile suit and face mask, plus I've had the jab!)

I wish I were nearer to you. It's miserable being ill on your own. :( besides which, you'll get better more quickly if you don't have to keep getting out of bed to make hot drinks etc. :(

    Ignore the front door bell.
I know you can't ignore the phone in case it's Joe, but if you have caller display and it isn't Joe, ignore it.

And don't just 'get on with things'. You must stay in bed and rest.
    Nurse Pyxis, she say so!

They must be fools if they don't realise that everybody else's children are annoying to everybody else; they're annoyed by others' kids.... ditto theirs.

No. They are just happy that other kids are a pain, so no one can complain when their kids act up. Or they see everyone else's kids as a pain, but think that the world must see their children as sweet little darlings.
