What Lydia's doing is far, far cheaper than a gym! :rotfl: :rotfl:Guess what you're doing? That's easy. You're at the gym, getting into shape to move all those books and records of your dad's.
(Probably not so many fit guys to ogle, though).chris_m I keep meaning to thank you for your comment that the clocks going back means Spring's on the way. That's a very cheering thought!Always looks for the positives
You see, being a natural born eeyore, that means that next Spring, when the clocks go forward, I will be lamenting the imminent onset of autumn now.

......and the skeins of geese flying south overhead.
There's a village in the West Country called Wool. It would be fun to see a skein of geese flying overhead there.
All of a kerfuffle from that direction and they shot out of the tree in all directions, followed very quickly by the local sparrowhawk.
I once had a strange contretemps with a sparrowhawk whilst hand-feeding a starling.(I just lurve spiders!)

I just love Pastures' clever malapropisms! :TI didn't realise visible panty line was a factor for flooring?
I dunno!GDB and michaels, behave yourselves!

I pop out for five minutes and the class runs amok!
You need a sort of time airlock thing, which you enter and then it converts you to the speed of the Aged P.My friend's dad died aged 104. He was still very with-it at that age, but he had slowed down an awful lot. She had to make a conscious effort to slow herself down when she entered his flat.(I just lurve spiders!)

The plural is pyxides.I think you will find that dicriminiating against someone based on their mental health status is illegal.

Michaels is right! :T
And that link, GDB, is weird! Not seen that before!
Is there a link for every single word in English? :eek:michaels is actually posesive, it is michael's user name
.

Now my nit-picky gene will fire every time I see one of your posts!

As regards poshness on the thread, does that mean we have aristocracy in our midst?
Should it be Lady Lydia and Lady Lostinrates?
Actually, both those sound really nice! The first being "Downton Abbey" and the second being a quirky fairy-tale.(I just lurve spiders!)

You mean you went from hand feeding a starling to hand feeding a sparrowhawk

Nah, one is enough - couldn't keep up with more than one of you

Almost! The sparrow was on my hand, pecking some mealworms, and the sparrowhawk reckoned I was offering him lunch!
Never seen a starling move so fast....... it squawked and jumped under a garden trolley next to where I was sitting, with the sparrowhawk right behind, ending up next to my feet. The s'hawk couldn't get under the trolley, and then realised that it was trapped right beside a human and flew out and off.
The starling tthen came out and got extra rations from me!
Mind you, I was amazed at its reflexes....... it was moving off my hand way before I realised what was happening!
Then I was in shock at the thought that I might, by my hand-feeding kindness, have caused the demise of the poor starling.
I always kept a look-out for a shadow over the sky after that!
Trouble is, sparrowhawks have to eat, too.
I would just rather it wasn't my 'trained' starling that they ate!(I just lurve spiders!)

Love what your GF's aunt put into her will, about scattering of the ashes! She had previously lived at the address that is now a hotel... and she was TITLED!
Countess.
Biggest Post Alert is definitely in this tree....!
You talk about these things as though I should know what you're on about. What did his aunt put in her will, please? As regards poshness on the thread, does that mean we have aristocracy in our midst?
Should it be Lady Lydia?
No, definitely not. My branch of the family has been downwardly mobile in gradual sort of way for several generations. Lydia is fine, or Dr J, or Ms J if you must, but don't call me Mrs. I was happy being Mrs when I was married, but I am about as comprehensively "not married any more" as it's possible to be, so I don't feel like a Mrs any more. The PhD is extremely useful in this regard. to all the NPs.
:hello: to ivyleafDo you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. (Link permitted by forum team)
Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.

Should it be Lady ....
Probably not ... by quirks of poor choices in previous generations, luck of the draw in birth orders .... death taxes and wild living between "the money/hob nobbers" and now ... just a few people who have quite a lot more "bobs" than us
I did find one in the tree I was (not stalking) looking at where some bloke had done well abroad, but had drowned on his way to a meeting ... and his son lost the entire estate in a card game. So that sort of stuff happens a lot too.0
