Lots of nice houses in your price band around SHERINGHAM. :)

Mind you, the weather can be a bit brisk. Some days, you can see the offshore wind farm, and some days it's hidden. So, there's always something to talk about.
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

Yes, the brisk weather ... or, more, the bitterly, bitterly, freezing cold winters, I experienced in the East was one of my pleasures at moving West.

Hard toss up though: Bitterly cold winters/East -v- Windy all the time/West -v- Warmer and windy/Far West.

None are great. I think I've got it right if I can find a sheltered spot :)

The thing about nice houses is there are lots of nice houses round this way - but not quite the right spot, or a bit far out, or a bus takes 2 hours to go 8 miles and there are none after 8pm. One vast swathe has to be entirely written off as it's plagued with feral gangs and, in the summer, the whole area goes up in flames and residents are often evacuated when the heath is set on fire :)

I spent several years a bit south of the fens, and I agree that that was bitterly cold. Funnily enough, we've spent quite a few Christmas hols here in Sheringham, and it's been quite mild. I guess that being next to the sea helps a lot. People are quite successful at growing fairly delicate plants out of doors here.

I know I can't tempt you, but you can get a perfectly habitable 2/3 bedroom house here for £200k. The main drawback for most people is the lack of employment opportunities.

There are perfectly habitable 2/3 bed houses here too, for £200k, but there are employment opportunities.

I actually wish to spend everything I've got. The lot. I've no wish for a cheaper house :)

The lot... I hate the responsibility of having "a bit spare". So much less to worry about if you've got nothing :)

Phone today Pastures, less time then to spend worrying over it. You'll know sooner rather than later if it's the one for you and won't risk missing out on what could be the perfect new home.
Spend less now, work less later.

Ours must be a similar age, perhaps a bit older, the icemaker stopped working and we couldn't decide whether it was worth paying to get it fixed. Various plastic bits have cracked over that time too but we haven't needed to replace most of them, only a door riser that helps keep the door closed that only cost a few quid. A new one might save a lot of leccy but it is too much hassle to plug the meter thang in behind so we don't know how much it actually uses. There seem to be lots of choices from about 500 quid up but if you want a recent volume and plumbed water and ice you seem to be looking at at least 1200 so definitely worth paying to get a free cycle one delivered. Gdb please let us know if you hear of any, need to be at least 600l and black!

My dead fridge at 13 years old is rated A, 520 KWh per year. Net capacity is 532l.

New model I am looking at is rated A+, 433 Wh per year. capacity 511l. The slightly larger capacity at 611l is A+, 450KWh. or an A++ at 389 kWh.
