    Neighbour stalking.

About 7pm last night I noticed a neighbour had returned home... leaving their car boot open. They'd reversed in and their boot was by their front door and bedroom window. It was still open at 8pm.

I didn't look out of the window after that time.

8.40am .... it's still up. She obviously forgot to close it.

I would not have been shy about telling her about ten minutes after I first noticed it. I suppose you find that more difficult, though.
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

I'm afraid that I am much more cynical about excuses like the mortgage broker is on holiday. He has email etc. Even if he's a one man band, he doesn't just have to leave everything for a week, and his clients are just as keen to see progress as you are. Personally, I'd make the obvious inference and set a deadline.

Alternatively, I'd be happy that I don't have to move out into rented accommodation. YMMV.

Omg. They are all grown ups. Time does not stand still, does it? Congratulations on the job success!

It's quite scary how quickly it has all gone although it didn't always feel like it when they were growing up!

I've been in my job almost two years now, another thing that has gone quickly. I can only do very part time hours unfortunately but it keeps the wolves from the door and it has meant I no longer have to worry about the DWP (I chose not to claim Universal credit as an earnings top up and I was not eligible for tax credits before that as I didn't do enough hours). Finances are tight as a result but just about doable, the biggest bonus is not having the stress having to worry about having to report every single change or having any payments messed up because I have done a few extra hours.

    How are things with you?
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

    Two years!

Well, those who were encouraging me to get myblue badge will be pleased to know I finally have it. I have a mean set of wheels for harder days too, though rarely needing them. I hate the wheelchair a lot. I used it last month in Soho and fir accidentally chucked me out of it crossing a road 😂. If I wanted adventure i’d Think of other places first really. There have been quite a few losses. Mauve squeaker cat most recently. Dog dog contracted a megaoesophagus : heartbreakingly. Both old horses are gone. My eye sight got no worse, and I had a brilliant , brilliant improvement in health for about 18 months. It’s still loads better than it was at its worst; I just have less oomph to push back these days :)

    Hope it works out PN.

My American side by side fridge freezer has been ill for a while. I can defrost the thing every few weeks that keeps it going, but really it needs to be replaced. Having put up with the pain of having to move it out to access behind, I realise that this job is twice as much effort than it should be just because there are no tiles beneath, otherwise it would slide easily on its wheels. So job 1 was getting that area tiled. Then we find that it’s water supply doesn’t have an on/ off switch, so the only way to switch off the water to it leaves us without water. So one tiler and one plumber later I’m good to go, only to find that the newer models are 3 inches taller. So now I need a carpenter to raise the unit above the fridge.

Then I will need to order from somewhere that provides installation - last time I ordered online and the deliverer refused to do anymore than place it in the garage! Due to its size it needs to go through the patio doors.

I noticed today in the papers that Prince Charles' development has been pulled up on "size of dwellings", with somebody saying that some of the social housing planned isn't up to the minimum suggested figures.

I tried to find out what those figures actually are... it would appear a 2 bed should be 61 sq m minimum and a 3 bed 74.

My current house is about 72 sq m for a 2 bed. Many of the places for sale on my list are smaller than those suggested minimums.... with some 3 beds coming in smaller than the 2 bed size! Personally, it doesn't matter to me as it's just me/

But, if size is so important, you'd think they'd make the figures being bandied about easier to find.

I only "think" I've found the right figures - and can't be sure that every council uses the same ones.

In the article they called it "Nationally Described Space Standards".

This is the Prince Charles article, from where I lifted the figures I've got.
