My dad went for milk and never came back, am I still a nice person?
Mutually exclusive ... you might be nice, equally, you might not be.

How long ago did he go for milk? 10 minutes, or 30 years?

Is probably more trouble than its worth :)

13 years service with only one repair along the way.

I'd expect something expensive to crack on for 30-40+ years without a breakdown :)

I used to work in an area with a large American expat population. When the families decamped back home to the US they'd often put their fridges on freecycle as they'd be too big to ship back.

A lot of local people got massive fridges for free than way; mind you it would have cost a pretty penny to transport them to your own house.

I’ve put it on local Facebook groups, offering it for free and emphasising that it has the fault and it is big and heavy.

I’ve had 6 responses- 2 were from Africa, one wanted me to fix it before they would have it, one wanted pictures of me using it (!!), one didn’t speak enough English for me to feel confident that they understood and one is happy to take it as it is.

Ours must be a similar age, perhaps a bit older, the icemaker stopped working and we couldn't decide whether it was worth paying to get it fixed. Various plastic bits have cracked over that time too but we haven't needed to replace most of them, only a door riser that helps keep the door closed that only cost a few quid. A new one might save a lot of leccy but it is too much hassle to plug the meter thang in behind so we don't know how much it actually uses. There seem to be lots of choices from about 500 quid up but if you want a recent volume and plumbed water and ice you seem to be looking at at least 1200 so definitely worth paying to get a free cycle one delivered. Gdb please let us know if you hear of any, need to be at least 600l and black!
    I think....

I'm still staggeringly impressed by his £110 new PC suggestion, it works a treat :)

Ditto the bed you put me onto, which was the right thing at the right price.

Regretted the Generali Fridge/Freezer from the start, which had too large a fridge and too small a freezer, but that's my fault as I should've gone into the shops to look at how large they actually are in real life so I could know the "litres" I wanted. Instead, I'd kind of assumed they were "all the same", but they're not. It was my first ever F/F purchase, so I'd not appreciated the number of variations in sizes.

This is hilarious..... I think there should be an IQ and Common Sense test before people are allowed on the Internet.

The internet would be a lot less busy if that policy was implemented!

    It's all too easy nowadays!

You're making me nostalgic for the old days when the internet was in black-and-white and cheeseburgers cost a penny!
