Band 20 is LTE 800MHz - BW 10MHz is the carrying capacity.
This is never going to be massively fast.

Have you swapped sims to test out each phone?

In a standard configuration 2x10MHz of 800 can get a max of around 75Mbps. Congestion and bad network planning can influence that, of course.

    Hi

Just swapped OH sim into my phone..

Mine still says LTE/3G/2G - so must just be down to the phone itself.

From the OP it's 2 phones on different firmware, the fact one reports as LTE and one reports as 4G is simply the way it's configured in the firmware, updating won't make a differnce and to what purpose should they even bother?

It's the same thing, 4G is LTE, LTE is 4G, there is no difference.

Not similar conditions but yes I reckon 4G is better.

When I upgraded to ios10 4G was now displayed and the speed was massively improved in certain areas (masts).

    Was displaying LTE previously.

Maybe new network settings were download afterwards.

I probably should have been clearer.
The sim swap was to compared speeds between the sims/phones.

The name 4G or LTE won't make any difference in itself.

I give up saying it, so let's turn it around.

Please explain why you say 4G is better than LTE.

With reference to the technologies and links to organisations like the ITU to verify the facts that make 4G better...

Without referencing documentation, we have two people with consistent speed issues which coincide with the display displaying LTE or 4G.

People don't seam to be able to explain why.

    OP on O2, me EE.

    I have an Iphone 6S.
It was running IOS9. It displayed LTE.

At home (with wifi off) I was getting a nice 20Mbps.
At work I was getting a disappointing ~2Mbps. (displaying LTE)

It was like this for a while, I blamed the local tower.

Later I upgraded the phone to IOS10.
To my surprise 4G was now displayed.

I ran a speed test at work, and now its nice and speedy

You still don't understand that they both reference the same thing?

Which is heavier, 1000 grams or 1 kilogram?

Which is faster, 100 miles per hour or 160.934 kilometres per hour?

Which contains more liquid, 568.261 millilitres or 1 pint?
