Good plan hairy, I’ll get some mini goals sorted this weekend
after just doing my sums I’m exactly 40% of the way through so that’s defintely a great feeling. And knowing I’ll be 50% by 2018 is going to feel great too!LBM January 2017 £34k will have paid back finally by my DFD May 2021got my first store card on my 18th birthday, never known a life without the grey cloud of debt looming over me. 18yrs and the end is finally in sight 🤩0 -
Did all my spending yesterday so that’s out the way, don’t enioy spending anymore as would just like every penny I have to go the debts to get them gone quicker, but we’ve got to eat I suppose!
Just got to keep going with my Friday £100s and that Barclaycard will be down to £400 December 29th and then gone by December 30th as get a bonus that day. Will be a happy New Year’s Eve for me!
So glad I’ve done all this on my own and not relied on my husband. I think he’s got credit card debts but he doesn’t talk about it and doesn’t seem to want to do anything about them. That’s his choice.
I’m so ready to feel debt free for the first time in my adult life. My whole life I’ve always had the letters through the door, always had those figures in the back of my mind, that slightly gloomy feeling over my head. To know within the next year every single balance I have will be zero is so exciting. :jLBM January 2017 £34k will have paid back finally by my DFD May 2021got my first store card on my 18th birthday, never known a life without the grey cloud of debt looming over me. 18yrs and the end is finally in sight 🤩0 -

I know just how you feel Angela. I hate spending now because I want to save up a buffer so I never get into debt again .
I hated getting those nasty threatening letters and phone calls from debtors, so stressful
I'm debt free since end of August but I want DH to be too as we've always shared our money
Anyway you can't force your DH to take his debts seriously, but when you are debt free you can do some serious boasting :rotfl:Finally Debt Free After 34 Years, But Still Need to Live Frugally

Gosh I can’t waot for a bit of boasting hairy! Only a little bit :rotfl:so we’re half way through our Benidorm week, children and family are having a fab time, husband has brought the spending money, although as were all inclusive we’re not buying much!
I got paid yesterday so did my £100 to Barclaycard, but an error came up so I did it again, and checked at the end and I’ve paid twice. I actually don’t mind as this week I haven’t got any outgoings what with not needing the foodshop and petrol back at home so it was all meant to be!LBM January 2017 £34k will have paid back finally by my DFD May 2021got my first store card on my 18th birthday, never known a life without the grey cloud of debt looming over me. 18yrs and the end is finally in sight 🤩0 -

That's a nice mistake to make on a week when you have the leeway to do it! I think I've just done the same with paying back my CC but as I've just noticed it needed feeding, it was just as well.
Hope you are all having a fab time in Benidorm - have pity on us with gales and rain today!I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)
The sun's been out and I think I’m solar powered (Onebrokelady)

Well I’ve negkected my diary a bit, whoopsie!
Haven’t fallen off the waggon though thankfully, although have been tempted a couple of times! Very nearly Pre ordered an iPhone X, but then quickly stopped myself pressing submit on the website. And another time nearly signed up for a £1000 new mattress on interest free.
Had a meal with a friend last week (freebie as he’s a manager at another branch, binus!) and found out he was in a similar boat as me, throwing everything he can at his debts, hopeful debt free date is next year, and then he’s planning to carry on saving the amount he currently repays and save for a house deposit. Was nice talking to someone who understands, the other people round the table we’re all baffled how we’d both got in the debt at the first place and seemed to view us as irresponsible gamblers!
Benidorm was lovely thanks both, warm and fun.
Since we’ve been back I’ve started thinking of Xmas and started buying a few things second hand, will be doing that each week now to spread it all out.LBM January 2017 £34k will have paid back finally by my DFD May 2021got my first store card on my 18th birthday, never known a life without the grey cloud of debt looming over me. 18yrs and the end is finally in sight 🤩0 -
A few more NSDs under my belt, it’s all just slowly rolling in the right direction. Can’t wait to be over half way through by the end of the year. Seems each week is the same at the moment, just enough money to get the essentials and that’s it.LBM January 2017 £34k will have paid back finally by my DFD May 2021got my first store card on my 18th birthday, never known a life without the grey cloud of debt looming over me. 18yrs and the end is finally in sight 🤩0

And another 4yrs have passed! I’ve carried on paying off my debts but at the same time having spending sprees. I did the maths the other day and simply from my lightbulb moment in 2017 I will have repaid £34000.What a ridiculous signal I have been living beyond my means for a very long time. But no more! These virus years have been a blessing in disguise for my credit card balance and I’m nearing the light at the end of the tunnel. £2500 to go. Interest free period comes to an end in may so that will be my goal.I’m excited to say the least! The only thing I spend money on is food, there’s no school lunch bills or sports clubs or holidays or tickets for days out or restaurant tabs. Hardly any petrol and no point having nice new clothes when I’m only getting fatter and fatter and my home is complete so no big purchases needed there. And so, let’s do this! I must just keep focusing on the fact that after I do become debt free if I could put away money each week that at the moment goes to my debts, I could actually start building some savings for the first time in my life!LBM January 2017 £34k will have paid back finally by my DFD May 2021got my first store card on my 18th birthday, never known a life without the grey cloud of debt looming over me. 18yrs and the end is finally in sight 🤩0
