Ziggy, my dad was almost completely deaf so my mum always shouted at him and now her own hearing is bad but she won't wear her hearing aid so she still shouts. I think I may have said this before but she talks about people really loudly and thinks they can't hear her, she sat at the legion one night and said to me really loudly, 'there are three women in here wearing wigs, do you want me to tell you who they are??'
