    Morning all,

Sorry been awol the last few days as things were busy with work and yesterday it was the Twins birthday. Not much MSE going on here at all :( June is always such an expensive month for us and I'm finding I'm having to move money from savings account to get us through this month.

On top of that DH has been called into work for a meeting today about his job. I have a dreadful feeling that his team are being put at risk of redundancy :( They are staging meetings from 2pm onwards and he's on the 4pm group.

    In other news:

My manager is back so it's been great to hand things back but things are also up and down in the work dept. DNMS sorry to hear everything your experiencing right now, I would also be furious with that kind of treatment. Hang in there.

    Todays list:

    * One lot of washing one and will hang outside to dry - Done
    * Going for a hair cut today... I get it done every 4-6 months
    * All meals from home and will use the breadcrumbs that I made at home from stale bread the other day for coating chicken tonight
    * Will make some home made pesto
    * A bit of ironing
    * Try and get on Swags and do some surveys
    * Home workout later on today hopefully

    Have a good Friday everyone

DNMS, Dartford is horrid and the traffic is going to be awful, I can understand how peed off you are, new jobs all round!

I'm feeling pretty disinclined to do my best today but I have to remember not to cut my nose off to spite my face and professional pride means that I always do everything to the best of my ability anyway. I have done some internet stalking of the person who starts the job I applied for on Monday and they come from a local residents mag which adds some credence to the excuse that the job was downgraded. I know it's not the new starter's fault but I won't be teaching them how to do the job.

    YS sandwich for lunch.

    Afternoon all :)
    Today's list:
Load of washing, currently drying on line. Already dried some of my brother's, which I made him put in last night.
Visited the [STRIKE]vampire[/STRIKE] surgery for a blood test again this morning
Picked up some shopping at Sainsburys while out (the bits I couldn't get at Lidl). Modest spend.
Also popped into sales unit, which has been sadly neglected. Surprisingly, there were some gaps, so I must take some more things in, maybe tomorrow, if not Monday. Just tidied up today.
Picked some mangetout and the first few French beans :)
Went to check the serial number of my Hotpoint fridge freezer to see if it is one of those affected by a possible fault. It isn't, but I found the recesses under the salad drawers full of water where the drainage hole in the back had filled with gunk  So just pulled everything out and given it a thorough clean.
A couple of surveys for onepoll

    Still to do:
Make a crumble to use up the shrivelly apples and pears I cooked up last night, will add the bowl of strawberries and loganberries from the fridge :)
Make a sausage and roasted veg combo for dinner tonight.
Check back later for more surveys
    Check banks
Water / feed whatever needs it in the garden
Pick, chop and freeze some rhubarb :)

    Hello Friday Frugalistas,
Mixed sort of day. The money saving bits of it are as follows:
*Cleaned all of downstairs using minmal products & washable cloths.
*Dismantled & binned my home made mouse bait stations. I think our last mouse was a lone visitor & not the beginnings of an underfloor invasion like we had the previous time.
    *Finished next week's meal plans.
*Write shopping list (still to do).
*Moved some money around to keep budgets straight.
*Did a few surveys & a longer project for a brands panel I'm currently on.
    *Entered a prize draw.
*Got a cheque ready to pay in tomorrow.
*Requested supplies of paying-in envelopes from bank.
*Baked marigold scones using the petals I picked yesterday.
    *Checked veggie garden for pests/problems.
*Aiming to finish sock tonight & cast on its pair.
That is all. Mr f's cooking night. Bubble bath & book for me!.

    Evening all,

Sorry for those of you having work problems. Even though my income can be up and down, I love being self employed.

I must get back into the habit of posting daily. Real life has just got in the way, with our holiday and my daughters wedding and trying to get the house ready for selling (we are just putting a new kitchen in)
We've been here for 12 years now and to be honest we've made do with the kitchen, painted the doors a couple of times and it really needs doing. But we will be spending as little as possible in order to gain as much as possible back in the asking price:D
Also we have been busy visiting some new possible places to live which is exciting but stressful as well.
All the children are off our hands but we are now worrying about not being too far from elderly relatives.
    Todays money saving list
Use diluted Zoflora to clean the kitchen and bathrooms. I picked up a couple of different scents and they were £1 each. You only need a tiny bit, should last me ages.
Dinner was a lovely salad out of the garden with some homegrown strawberries tossed in. we have a glut at the moment
Froze some strawberries, put some aside for smoothies and made a strawberry coulis to add to puddings later in the year.
Posted 8 ebay parcels and picked up lots more stuff to list. It's a bit quiet at the moment but it's always the same in summer when the weather is good.
That's about all for today. Have a good evening folks x

Is that why it happens? The same keeps happening to mine, I will have a puggle around tomorrow :queasy:

Your mention of vampires has reminded me I keep meaning to find somewhere near work to give blood. I have the most common blood group and am also rhesus negative so any old body can have my blood so it's usually in demand :rotfl:

  • Morning. Yay it's the weekend! :j Thank god I'm out of that place for 2 days! Things got worse yesterday as at the end of the day I lost my stuff on my manager - poor woman, she's so young, new in the role and management - but I was told she couldn't guarantee I wouldn't be posted permanently in Dartford as I wouldn't be needed in my current area after I have finished 4-6 wks in Dartford as another member of staff has asked to be moved to my area as it means less travel for him!

    Today:

Going to finish my coffee and go to the lottie in a minute :T

Meeting up with dd at lunch at the local wildlife park. Using membership card ;)

    All meals from stores

oh painting garage & putting up swing

need to do some wormery maintenance

    listen to my audio book

hot tubbing at some point :D

    that's it I think! Happy days x

Yes, if you look at the back you will see a drainage hole with channels leading to it, which is where the excess water is supposed to escape, I think to a tray at the back outside somewhere from which it evaporates. This hole can get blocked with gunky stuff  You will need something to poke down it. Mine actually came with a green plastic thingy for this purpose, but you can use a cotton bud or similar. I think I preferred the old fashoned non-self-defrosting ones where this didn't happen. On the other hand, I think I should probably clean it more frequently so that the problem didn't arise :o

    Today's plans:
Unexpected rain overnight, so only minimal watering needed :D
Picked, chopped and froze rhubarb :)
Picked broad beans, which OH is currently shelling, I will freeze this batch :)
Make a big batch of coleslaw to take with us to DD's tonight - she is doing a BBQ, and this is what she asked me to contribute :) I have the ingredients, and it doesn't take long in my trusty old magimix :D
    Dog walk before we go
Received another hospital appointment this morning - I can just tell that July is going to be a bundle of fun

    Morning all,

Things are a little tight but I am credit and no debt, so that's ok. Nothing expensive planned for the weekend. School fete today and and birthday party tomorrow so DS is entertained this weekend.

Over the last two weeks I have had a listing on ebay for the lego cards, OMG it has been mental over 31,000 views and lots of buyers 75 in one day. I have made a reasonable profit and visited the post office most days, I have tucked the money into savings for when my job finishes in Oct.

Finally had benefit payment following redundancy so again used that to top off the pot for a period of unemployment.

Contacted the waterboard and asked about going on to a reduced tariff as my earning have reduced, so I have sent through the information they have asked for and they have agreed to back date until my redundancy date so I am hoping it will bring down the bills by half!!!
