I opted for a debit card as had read reports that security codes by post dont arrive, after funding the account will probably withdraw funds from cashpoint

Does the fineco account appear on your credit report?

My Experian showed only a generic id search (ie not seen by other lenders) and no credit search nor account details.
    I think....

How long have you had the account for? (Because it can take a few weeks for credit reports to be updated).

And has anyone checked the other CRA's?

There's little point in getting hung up about full credit checks for current accounts. A current account application will make very little difference to your credit worthiness.

I wanted to know if the account appears on the credit report, not about the credit check. I'm asking for a friend who might be getting a mortgage very shortly. One of the things recommended is to show stability in your bank accounts, no?

Stability mainly means that you have held one or more accounts for a reasonable length of time, and managed these accounts well. I.e. not got overdrawn. Presumably your friend would simply add a Fineco account and is not considering to close their existing account(s) and to switch to Fineco? Because if they were closing existing accounts and replace them with Fineco, they should very seriously consider their plans.

This is a quote from https://www.experian.co.uk/consumer/questions/changing-accounts-credit-score.html?

'Generally speaking, having one or two credit application searches is unlikely to impact an application for a current account or loan but do try to leave at least a few months between applying for the bank account and the car finance if possible.'

Best if your friend follows the Experian advice then and not pursue the Fineco referral offer. Problem solved.:D

I have had at least 18 successful current account applications accepted since middle February plus Fineco Bank, didnt ask for an overdraft for any of them thus strictly speaking dont get classed as credit accounts although of cos potentially have unauthorised overdraft facility.
