Morning all - just - probably afternoon by the time I've finished typing!
Heavenleigh - My friend has the same problem in trying to get a Wii but then managed to get one from Next - she actually phoned them to order it and it arrived yesterday - might be worth a look.....failing that I got one through studio24 via quidco, was a few weeks back now but I got £19 cashback on my order.
Just been out for a walk with a friend for a bit of fresh air - quite muggy here today and keeps coming over all black and murky - feels quite stormy.
TD is on with towles that just wont dry on the line now and the rest is on airers on the patio so I can whisk it in if it does start to rain.
Not thought about dinner yet - will have to be something quick and easy as everyone apart from me is rushing in and out again at different times - feels more like Hotel Pooky everyday here.
Going to finish my cuppa and attack the bathroom - how does it get so dirty so quickly?
Hugs to those in need and air kisses to those with colds.

Good morning everyone!!!:D
Lots of smiles, I feel soooo much better today (slept until nearly 10:eek: , cold feels like it's well on the way out, fingers crossed!) and it's not raining!!!:T :rotfl: Shez your washing might dry, yippee. I got mine in before it started Sunday, so my house has just looked like a laundry ever since:rolleyes: DH has pegged loads out this morning, so guess what I'll be doing later? Mmmmm lots of lovely ironing.
Aussie, glad you managed an afternoon nap:D If only I could get hold of zucchinis, I'd try your recipe. Suppose it might adjust to use courgettes? Or even baby marrows?:rotfl: (just use strong glue, then the tickets will go nowhere.) So how many gallons of lettuce soup is that now:cool:
Pink, (((((hugs)))))) to all the Pinks and especially DS2. Hope all goes well now.
Kyle, just one more sleep! How exciting, I wonder if you will get any sleep tonight;) You have a brilliant holiday, you so deserve this:D
twink, with reference to the above, should you find yourself with a surfeit of home-cooked goodies, I could sacrifice myself and eat them for you:rotfl: (Will supply my address as you require):D
Gilly, sorry you've had to say goodbye to your dog, but I do think the way the vet handled it makes such a difference. (I was very lucky when my darling cat had to be put to sleep many years ago) Be kind to yourself today.
Hope all those feeling poorly start to feel better soon,
Take care, CMxx
edited to say, well done on the stairlift hilstep!! It'll make such a difference, really pleased for you:TYou never get a second chance to make a first impression.0 -
Morning gang, very quick one as have been told that the electricity supply is liable to be off(again:mad:   )as they try to locate the problem(weeks and weeks now GRRRR!) Stil at least they are not digging up our garden!!!!!!! So (((((((((((((((((((((HUGS)))))))))))))))))))))) to you all, will post replies and thrill you with the excitement of my day:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: after 3 pm(when things will be "back to normal" (YEAH RIGHT). hAVE A GREAT DAY. A XXXXBlind as you run...aware you were staring at the sun.
And when no hope was left inside on that starry starry night.

SNAP!! Yep you got that right CM!! Think the sun tried popping out so have chucked another load out!! :rotfl: :rotfl:
Also like Pooky will be swishing the bathroom and putting the hoover round! all delaying tactics to put off the ironing of course!!:rotfl:
Have been to the gym - bit of excitement as there was nearly a punch up between two guys!! right in front of me on the cross-trainer! thought for a minute i would have to jump off and referee! or chuck my water over them!:rotfl:
Gilly - so sorry about your dog, its an awful thing to have to do isnt it?x
Kyle - Not long to go now - whoopee!!:T
aussielass - get the wire out across the road - I dare you!!!;) and then post the pics on here afterwards!:D
Hillstep2000 - good news about the chair lift:T my MIL is waiting for her one to be installed together with a shower - she's still waiting though!

Hi everyone!
Hugs to all those who are having a difficult day.
I seem to be pottering along as usual. Freecycle came up trumps yesterday as we're now the proud owner of 2 radiator airers [very useful with limited line drying time left and no TD] and a set of shelves and brackets which will be used in the garage for extra storage. The idea is that I can bulk buy dried/canned goods when I see offers so savings all round. The clothes that I listed didn't go this time but I've got a friend coming on Sat who'll have a rummage and anything else I'll take to the charity shop.
Failed miserably to finish watching HP DVD as a friend rang up and lost the evening gossiping:D However, did get the first stage of the apple butter done so may do more tonight or maybe tackle that big pile of ironing that's nagging me:rotfl: Perhaps I'll ease the blow by having the can of Pimms my boss gave me for my birthday.
Nowt much else except OH and the small person have been rummaging through all my craft treasures [some might call it tut:D ] that I've got squirrelled away looking for pieces to make a model of the Iron Man [Ted Hughes story]

Lamb and dumplings - that's what Catowen and I had yesterday, and it was yummy. I put a few quartered fresh tomatoes in about 10mins before serving, and that added a lovely fresh taste. No idea what's for tea tonight
Churchmouse - Aussie especially said that her zucchinni recipe works with nothing but zucchinniso don't bother wasting your courgettes :T
My client didn't show, and the boss is stroking the new photocopier, so I'm twiddling my thumbs. Wish I'd brought my knitting  I finished one sleeve last night, so could have the second done by now
Have a great day, Penny. x:rudolf: Sheep, pigs, hens and bees on our Teesdale smallholding :rudolf:0 -
Hi, for the second time today, we had a good journey to the airport but absolute chaos when we got there, they have changed the parking, you used to be able to park to set down and collect in a carpark in front of the airport......now you have to pay £1 for every 15 minutes in the car park. If you meet someone you have to park in the long stay and get a bus which runs every 7 minutes. Getting out of the car park was horrendous, cars, Taxi's and mini buses juggling for position............then when we got to the barrier we found we should have validated the ticket in a machine when paying....ended up having to pay with my debit card.......the journey back was ok, but I HATE THE ROADS ROUND BIRMINGHAM.....sorry!!!!!!!! the road signs are rubbish, we almost missed the turn onto the M6 to get onto the M69.......were back by 6.15am and went back to bed, finally surfaced around 9.30........
I was hoping to get my computer back today, but it will be tomorrow..........I shall be so glad to get it back..... I realised yesterday that I had not printed off the reservations for our holiday next year....ggggggggggggggrrrrrrrrr I am going to have to try and get into the site and see if I can find them again...otherwise I am going to have to email them and see if I can retrieve them from them...........idiot, in future I will print them off straight away.....
Nothing planned for the rest of the day, I got a beef and bean stew out of the freezer and have done the veg, more green beans,I made a bread and butter pudding last night, have enough for tonight, just need to heat it through...........Was 13st 8 lbs,Now 12st 11 Lost 10 1/4lbs since I started on my diet.0 -
Washing is on the line outside and DH is scoffing homemade soup for a late lunch.
Made the sauce for spag bol for tonight that just needs heating up and DD has the afternoon off and has a friend over as it is open day at the school and they will be volunteerig to help tonight.
Viewer comes to look at the house at 6.30 so will whzz around with the hoover and polish later.
Don't really care if he likes the house or not as we lost what we wanted but will show willing anyway!
Hugs to everyone having a bad day.
Gilly
So sorry about your dog.
Hester
Hope you feel better today.

Well, GP was great considering it took me twice the usual time to walk there due to my swollen foot, so I was late for the appointment. He looked at my wrists and hands and told me where the pain was...
can't have better anti-inflamatories as I am already on the best (or am allergic to the others), so have a script for painkillers and a week off work, with the instruction to go back to the surgery if that is not long enough.
I am ashamed to say I started to cry, probably due to the sheer frustration of not being able to do ordinary things like put my socks on, but also as I wanted a magic 'cure' - or to be told 'it's just imagination, stop whinging and you'll be fine' - I had a tough mother and that phrase seemed to cure most things except chicken pox, gastro-enteritis and labour. I don't know how to deal with sympathy.
Went for a cup of tea in the local cafe, but could not pour it safely, so blew some of my Boots points on a copper bracelet.
Does anyone have any other ideas on ways to deal with rheumatoid arthritis?I can cook and sew, make flowers grow.0 -
