  • Morning everyone *yawns* Had to take OH to the station as he's off to Birmingham on a course today...decided there wasn't much point in going home again so came straight to work  Didn't feel like breakfast before we left so brought it with me. Very eerie here in the office on my own - apart from security the whole site is deserted at the moment

Just as well I love my job hey :D

    Mornng All,
First of all ((((HUGS))))))) to Ellie. hope you feel better soon.

Well, my OT and the man from the Council came. They've had quoes from Dolphin and Stannah, and can go ahead! I've still got to have the banisters put back (elf & safety) and the radiator moved, but looks like it won't be long now. They've also now looked at outside (I've got twelve steps up to the front door) and have decided to put in an outside lift too! Don't know how long that will be tho.:rotfl:

Got to work all day today, cos I swopped my afternoon to see them, so I'll be back later.
Fish and Chips for tea tonight I think.

    Have a good day!:T

    Morning All

Pink - so glad it went well for ds yesterday.

Feeling very blocked up and sorry for myself. Have cancelled my lunch out today - wouldnt be able to taste anything and I dont want to pass this cold on to my friend.

Will get a few bits done today but will take it easy. Have big Tesco shop coming 9-11 & need to clear out and clean fridge before. Hate puttin shopping away - also will need to put some stuff in the freezer in the garage & hope that the torrential rain stops before then!

Probably will get some paperwork done rather than housework. No idea whats for dinner, hopefully will have some inspiration when the shopping comes.

    Have a good one.

Thats fabulous news hun! Once I had the OK about the stairlift from my OT it all happened very quickly and I hope this is the case with yourself. They decided to go with Stannah in the end as I have a weird staircase and they were the only ones that could do it. I have another OT assessment this week as my last one was just over 12 months ago. I think if I remeber rightly that you have MS? Do you qualify for any other help...direct payments etc? PM me and we can chat. You sound in a very similar position to me and maybe we can support each other a little bit:confused: Hugs anyway and glad you will be more mobile!

Had a better nights sleep last night but still not great. Wont moan though as theres always someone worse than yourself;)

WM is on, DW emptied, house pretty ok and toilet scrubbed.

OH is getting stuff out for me to Turbolist today as its half price listings on ebay tomorrow. He can take the pics etc and I will just do the quick info.

I made £65 on Ebay Sunday. Sold a lamp we bought 2 years ago from TKMaxx for £15 for £41 and she is collecting:D ...result!

Am awaiting a time for my OT assessment this week. May call them again today if not heard by lunchtime as i have 2 hospital visits this week and need it done ASAP. I have decided to ask for more help as OH is shattered ATM and I hate asking him to help me. I dont want our relationship to suffer when the extra help could be available. I also want to ask about a pillow lift as I can only sit up in bed if OH helps or rolls me over...and sometimes I have to wake him to do this:mad: ....its all so frustrating! Thank god for the stairlift and wet room...at least I can do that by myself...although I need help getting to and fro:rolleyes:

We are having lamb stew and dumplings for dinner made in the SC...yummy!

Anyway, have to go. Ive just eaten half a tuna sarnie for breakie...well at least its food thats going down well:D

    Hugs to all.

    Morning all....

Im up. but not awake quite yet ...heck i feel like a bag of poop tied in the middle  ...and if i had the energy to jump up n down..i would rattle :o .. don't usually take tablets unless desperate..... but im desperate..so they are going down at a rate of knotts:eek:

Thought id have a quick scan through, before getting my blanky, hot water bottle and crawling onto the sofa for the next few hours:o ... it reclines and is soooo comfy mmmm bliss - so i will probably get more sleep there than in bed anyway:T

Hubby has gone golfing....its German unification day so everyone is off work and everything is closed, glad i feel that rough that i don't want to go anywhere anyway....still every cloud has a silver lining... namely that im not going out shopping and have decided to try and live for the next 5 weeks out of all those things i cooked and froze :T . Just need to check my list of what is in the freezer (on the PC)... to see what we have ;) ... don't need too much at the moment as my teeth are throbbing:rolleyes: .

Ellie - hope your gum ache goes soon....I have a dentist appointment at 8:30 on friday... the most they are doing is an x ray and then giving me something for the infection....they don't know that yet -but if they think they are prodding n poking my teeth whilst it hurts this much - they can Nelly:D ...

My mum is under instruction, that unless she wins the lottery - or wakes up weighing 10st she isn't to tell me about anything else that has happened to her :rotfl: .....

Essexgirl - hope you are feeling better soon

Hilstep- glad they have finaly agreed to a stairlift for you:T

    hugs to everyone else

Hope you all have a great day:j

had final quote for new front and back door so going ahead as soon as possible. our doors are so drafty and with winter coming..convinced mr D that it is money saving (even though I probably picked the dearest door in the brochure!)

    Morning all,
had to stay home form work today as RA has flared up in my neck after a root extraction at the dentists yesterday - a tooth snapped at the weekend.

Going to GP later, so just trying to potter and not feel sorry for myself. Both wrists are very sore & stiff, so having problems with most ordinary things at the moment, like opening jars or doors or pulling on socks. Anything that needs twisting, turning or pulling. this has lasted almost 3 weeks, which is gloomy at this stage in the RA, mostly my flare-ups are just for a few days.

Shall make menu / shopping lists and check freezer (I unseal it with a blunt knife - very devious!), and tidy up: I found the 'Cindy's Porch' website again.

Commiserations to all who are feeling poorly, have a great 'old-style' day.

    Hello Everyone,

I don't post here that often as usually leave for work at 8 and cannot post when I get there.

I took today off as leave as expected to be very emotional. My beloved dog had to be put to sleep yesterday, Steffi was almost 16 and one of the best investments I have ever made. Rather than feeling emotional I actually feel relieved that she is no longer in discomfort, the vet was fantastic at explaining what would happen and allowed us to stay with her until we felt ready to go.

I have been up for hours.

The DW has been on, the WM has done a load and now in the TD as it is pouring here.
I have done a sort of my bedroom drawers, thrown old make up, empty bottles and generally tidied them. I can now find things I long forgot I ever had:rolleyes:
Beds are stripped and my son's bedroom has been 27 fling boogied, but I don't suppose he will even notice as he comes in tonight and does his own version where the school uniform gets flung, dropped, strategically placed on to the floor or any other surface but my desired ones:mad:

I am going to tidy the house, call a carpet cleaner for a quote and then either spend the afternoon making Christmas cards and tags or learning how to use last year's Christmas present form my other half - a sewing machine:eek:

Hugs and best wishes to everyone.

    Gilly
