(((( gilly )))) so sorry to hear about your dog - i love my dog to bits and will be distraught when something happens to him.
We are going away on Saturday and I'm stressing about putting him in kennels , he's not good with strangers and last year I spent ages telling the woman at the kennels to be careful with him in case he snapped at her. When we came back he was all over her and wouldn't come to us
Do something nice today, and don't spend all day on here readingYou're only young once, but you can be immature forever0 -
Hello Everyone
I took today off as leave as expected to be very emotional. My beloved dog had to be put to sleep yesterday, Steffi was almost 16 and one of the best investments I have ever made. Rather than feeling emotional I actually feel relieved that she is no longer in discomfort, the vet was fantastic at explaining what would happen and allowed us to stay with her until we felt ready to go.
Gilly
Gilly, so sorry to hear about your dog, its very said when they go, its just like loosing a family member, I love my little dog to bits. Huge hugs to you xxxx

Morning
Hugs to all with the cold (distance hugs if thats ok) I seem to have managed to bypass the people giving out this particlular bug thank goodness (keeping fingers crossed) I know that there is never a good time to feel ill but right now I need full health to deal with builders:D
Mrs M - Be careful what you wish for you could end up a slim millionaress by the end of the day:rotfl:
Gilly - I am so sorry you have lost your good friend, even though the decision was right its still hard to be without them.
OK so Kitchen Watch looks like this today:
Yup a big fat nothing since yesterday. As predicted the builders promise of "I may get to you later if the other job goes ok" translated to "There are two chances of me getting to you today one is zero and one is fat:rolleyes: "
Actually to be fair he did turn up at 6pm put 4 bags of plaster in the kitchen and left saying see ya tomorrow - I wont hold my breath:D
Anyway Loch Fyne was fantastic - we had the platter and it was a real treat. Today its back to a cheese butty I think (with a generous flouring of plaster) If anyone has any fab food ideas that dont involve ovens or microwaves please let me know - I think the chippy will wear a bit thin by the end of next week:o
Right best get back to tapping my fingers, tutting and moaning about unreliable workmen:rotfl:
Take care all

Morning all,
Hope you are all well.
Im having a lazy week as dh is working 15 hour shifts all week (for no extra money i may add as he is salary based) i find i have no energy to do anything!
It is now 11 am and i am still sat in my dressing gown, my friends are helping out with the school runs this week (thank god) and i hate to admit it but the kids are living on takeaways this week. We are ordering a chinese tonight, but i dont feel too guilty as wek havent had one in months.
The tax office have sorted out their mistake with dh's wages, as we have received over £3000 in back payments this morning our weekly ammount will go down from £118 to £65 until april, but at least i can sleep at night knowing i wont have a huge overpayment bill to pay back at the end of the year.
I could kick myself for not claiming tax credits before, all that money i was missing out on is unreal
Nipped into asda with a friend yesterday to look at christmas presents (need to start somewhere) and hit it just right as their whole range of sale clothing was marked down to £1 per item.
I have stocked up on maternity clothes for a pound each so am feeling quite pleased with myself, although i tried the size 12 jeans on this morning and they are hanging off me! hopefully now the sickness has passed i will start to put some weight on as i desperately need to.
I cant get hold of a nintendo wii, for love nor money and as it is going to be the shared main present between the kids at christmas i hope over the next couple of months they come back into stock, my friend got hold of one last week but i wasnt really in the position to justify buying it last week and now all shops have sold out again.
Well enough rambling from me.....
Pink - glad ds's op went well, sending him lots of hugs for a fast recovery
Chalky - :hello:
Hester - Have you every thought of writing a book? your blog is so interesting and well written i'm sure there must be a way you can make money from your abilities.
Essexgirl - hope you are feeling better soon.
Gilly - So so sorry to hear about your dog. It must be heartbreaking for you and it will take time to get over. My beloved cat died two years ago aged 16 and i still think about him almost daily, they are after all a part of the family
To have loved and then said farewell, is better than to have never
loved at all. For all of the times that you stooped and touched my
head, fed me my favorite treat and returned the love that I so
unconditionally gave you. For the care that you gave to me so
unselfishly. For all these things I am grateful and thankful.
I ask that you grieve not for the loss, but rejoice in the face that
we lived, loved and touched each others lives. My life was fuller
because you were there, not as a master/owner, but as my FRIEND.
Today,I am as I was in my youth. The grass is always green, butterflies
flit among the flowers and the Sun shines gently down upon all of God's
creatures. I can run, jump, play, and do all the things that I did in my
youth. There is no sickness,no aching joints,no regrets and no aging.
We await the arrival of our lifelong companions and know that
togetherness is forever. You live in our hearts as we do in
yours. Companions such as you,are so rare and unique. Don't hold
the love that you have within yourself. Give it to another like me
and then I will live forever. For love never really dies; and you ARE
loved and missed as surely as we are.
Leigh xx

Hello everybody - I haven't posted on here for a while, but I have been reading the posts.
You all seem to lead such busy lives that I don't know how you find time for everything that you do. I don't have any young children at home these days but remember how my days were one long whirl of activity back then with barely time to think and breathe inbetween different tasks!
These days I work full time but from home which is quite useful sometimes (dark murky winter mornings spring to mind because I don't have to actually GO OUT and travel to work). On the other hand it means that I don't actually get to 'go home' either and my working day tends to encroach into my home life. I'm a Resident Scheme Manager for older people in Sheltered Accommodation.
Right now I've managed to get my washing in the machine and there's a chicken casserole* 'glooping' away in the slow cooker. Having that tonight with jacket potatoes and mini corn-on-the-cob.
*two chicken breast fillets (cut into pieces), 1 onion (sliced thinly), 2 carrots (chopped), 1 leek (sliced), half a swede (diced), 1 parsnip (chopped), tin of Asda toms (with garlic), 1 chicken stock cube, 1 veg stock cube, 1 tsps dried herbs with some boiling water - enough to cover what is in the slow cooker. The veggies were all left over from doing Monday's scouse and needed to be used up while still useable!
Anything that's left over might get frozen - if I can stop OH from mooching before it's cooled down enough to freeze.0 -
Heavenleigh that was a beautiful poem made me cry at work.
