Aldi today announce expansion plans for the UK:

    Aldi grows
    Others shrink.
    = zero
There will be no Brexit dividend for Britain.

I believe you are correct about EU standards.
However let's be clear. When and if Britain leaves the EU in March 2019 all British products at that time will meet EU standard and it should? be a simple matter! perhaps even covered in the Brexit negotiations? that certification is agreed.
However from post Brexit day 1 there will be meetings in the EU to discuss modifications to standards (this is normal business) but without a representative from Britain at the table.
OK expensive lobbyists from British Company's will be doing their best. But it's not the same as having a representative AT THE TABLE.

You keep posting this opinion as though it were a fact. Why don't you read what the BSI has to say about the matter:

    https://www.bsigroup.com/en-GB/about-bsi/uk-national-standards-body/EUReferendum/

They appear to be much less concerned than you are.

I deliberately left that off, because I was talking about how much money we've cost the EU, and that they'd be perfectly entitled to ask recouped for if we were to cancel A50.

The cost for the UK in Brexit thus far, just from an admin point of view will be far higher. I wasn't even thinking about indirect expenses like the snap election (but I think May would have called that anyway if Labour was looking weak).

You original very valid point that Brexit has cost the EU and would present a bill if there was no Brexit.
What if the EU won't let us stay.
Yes I know it's better to have your reluctant member IN the tent.
There will be no Brexit dividend for Britain.

There is something that binds the 27 together that you should not ignore.
All have been invaded/occupied in living memory.

    Sweden? Portugal? Spain? Malta? Ireland?

That is a (fortunate) difference that sets Britain apart.
If Britain leaves the EU it might turn out to be to the EU's advantage longer term.
The best result tho is NO Brexit.

Who occupied Spain, Portugal, Ireland, Finland and Sweden?

Interesting read thank you. They seem very confident.
By the way BSI confirm what I posted is fact.
By the way I am not personally concerned only concerned for UK producers.

Danish MEP, member of the far right Danish People's Party wants Denmark out of the EU.

    Shocking! :rotfl:
Ah, you must mean shocking in a similar manner to Danes refusal to consider increasing payments to EU coffers?
    https://www.thelocal.dk/20170328/danish-minister-we-will-not-pay-more-to-eu-after-brexit
Or perhaps because trade with the UK is already suffering and is at further risk of being a very costly consequence of Brexit?

    http://cphpost.dk/news/business/brexit-fallout-beginning-to-hit-danish-fashion-exports-to-the-uk.html
    No?
Then perhaps that Danes may well be the most affected by Brexit?
    https://www.thelocal.dk/20170421/denmark-potentially-most-affected-by-brexit-pm
    Shocking indeed Mayo.
No reasons there at all for some Danes to want out of the EU.

I think they've already offered to let us stay, but you are right; withdrawing A50 now needs agreement from the EU27. They might not let us, but I think it's pretty likely they wouldn't want anything more than to have their wasted time reimbursed.
