Because the referendum question asked was 'should we remain a member of the EU' Y/N
NOT should we remain a member of the EU or leave and return if there is a deal we don't like.
I was listening: you didn't read the question on the voting form apparently.
Should we remain a member of the SM and CU? Which agencies should we remain a member of? Should we have a free trade deal?
Were you asked the above? I wasn't.
I was asked whether we should remain a member of the EU, that is a start, it's not answering many questions though.
I believe we could be like Norway or Switzerland, and I also believe that a 52/48 vote would be unfinished business.
I also believe that in a democracy, the public has the power to change their mind or stick to the original plan, therefore it would be a good test of public opinion to have another vote.💙💛 💔0 -
In the last YouGov poll 70% wanted the government to abide by the referendum result and leave the EU.
Another referendum would there be against the wishes of the majority.
The great Briish public understand democracy better than the sneering elites on here.
quite. there won't be another vote.0 -

Then why not just have another referendum and cut off all the moaning?0 -

you can believe whatever you like, that is your inalienable right.
but there won't be another vote, we've already done that0 -

The money is not missing.
The part that you have omitted is that the accounts have been signed off but qualified in that the auditors have said that there were material errors. In 2015 the material error was 3.8% out of a budget of €145bn i.e. more than €5bn.
So to say that the money is not missing or that it was an outright lie is being somewhat economical with the truth.
When Tesco misstated their financial position, they were severly fined and directors resigned. Who holds the EU to account?0 -

Really? So if labour had won the GE and decided that we'd leave the EU, but pay into the budget, obey the CJEU, stay in the SM and CU.... Remain in all but name as brexiters like to say, youd be happy to defend that based on it being compatible with the question on the referendum paper? You wouldnt want a referendum to see if the elecorate are happy with the outcome?
And here is where the hypocrisy of brexiters shows itself, happy with democracy as long as it serves their own purposes.0 -

You obviously took little notice of the referendum debate because on questions like, do we remain members of the CU and SM, they were answered, both sides made it clear that we wouldn't. Norway or Switzerland, again the answer was no, a bespoke deal is what we want..."I want to die peacefully in my sleep like my grandfather, not screaming in terror like his passengers."0 -

And more lies from the leave side... Lots of brexiters went on tv saying theybwerent talking about leaving the single market. Theres copies of the footage on youtube. Somebody linked to a video of daniel hannan saying it, today on this very thread!
When cameron and osborne said they'd be negative economic consequences of brexit its project fear, but when they said we'd leave the SM they were trustworthy in your eyes? Thats your position? Seriously?0 -
