There are you see times when only experience matters.
I have a great deal of experience of playing football but I am sure a 14 year old in Man Us youth squad could run rings around me with much less experience.:)Few people are capable of expressing with equanimity opinions which differ from the prejudices of their social environment. Most people are incapable of forming such opinions.0 -
Corbyn takes control of Brexit negotiations.

Yes, giving somebody a t-shirt definitely means he's in charge.
That's only slightly below a pot of his special home-made jam.
Just think, if only Labour had chosen an electable leader they might have managed more than their dismal 262 seats and ACTUALLY been negotiating with the EU.
Never mind, he still has his allotment.0 -
What about the ones with vision and drive who wanted to leverage the EU? It's a much easier market to deal with than the far east.
What about the ones that want to leverage a strong and stable economy?
I genuinely don't understand this notion that the only thing holding us back from a successful Brexit is a lack of good old British pluck. That we're somehow just not trying hard enough to make a success out of shooting ourselves in the foot. That we're holding the economy back by constantly asking what the plan is. That this is all somehow the Remainers fault.
I've heard of a few people worried about losing opportunities due to Brexit (travel restrictions, trade costs, staffing) but I've not heard a single story about anyone trying to leverage a new market (beyond investors making a fortune from the falling GBP).
Have you noticed how Brexiters go quiet when asked what products Britain will be exporting to Britains new trade partners that will bring wealth and prosperit? There will be no Brexit dividend for Britain.0 -

Brexit ambitions = hope.

I think the next generation of elderly will potentially have a broader outlook as we've had much better opportunity to make a wider spectrum of contacts in a period of relative peace and prosperity. My dad hasn't left town in 10 years and has never been abroad - we have different attitudes as a result.
Hang on, there are some old geezers like me who did leave Town. There will be no Brexit dividend for Britain.0 -

There's a significant amount of tumbleweed when any kind of plans are asked.
I wonder if they think it's because we'll poo-poo them just because we think Brexit is a stupid idea, or if they're worried we'll poo-poo the plans because they are bad plans?0 -

Oh dear. Still rattled from Election Day?
Apparently Theresa May cried (for herself) when she saw the results coming in.
Thank goodness the UK has a strong and stable government in waiting led by Jeremy, that the EU can deal with. Rather than the coalition of chaos run by May, flogging the dead horse of Toryism and right wing xenophobia.0
