Grabbing a few minutes to update.

Been quite busy last couple of days with work and family.

I've managed to renew my Home Insurance. I've gone through Topcashback. Actually the company I've gone with is £10 more expensive than the renewal quote from who I'm with. But with the £32 cashback it obviously worked out cheaper in the long run.

I'm on the countdown to holiday mode now. As we're staying in a caravan for 7 nights I've been meal planning and shopping list writing! Don't want to be spending fortune's going out for food all the time.

Not been able to complete many survey's recently due to how busy I've been :(

Ordered my veggie seeds today also (another TCB purchase). Looked at what I could grow from Autumn onwards. So it'll looking like onion, garlic and cabbage!! Good thing me and DH love them.

Anyway DH finally got his insurance pay out. So he's immediately wiped out his overdraft. We'll go through the rest of it later tonight and see what else we can pay off.
But more I'm excited to order a new bed when we get back from our holiday :D Desperately hoping it'll improve my sleep.

Anyway must get cracking with the pre holiday cleaning :(

    Morning

This is 'likely' to be my last update for over a week, only because I don't know what the internet coverage will be like on our holiday. I don't like to mention where we're going. Only because I still like some anonymity with some aspects.

Anyway, just had a review of our accounts

    Totals as of 20th August

    Lloyds CC £1393.20

    Emergency Fund total - £64.51/£1000

I looked ahead, I can state that for 4 days over the next few weeks I will most definitely not be paying for parking at work. This is due to annual leave and a bank holiday. I've therefore stuck £10 into the Emergency Fund and paid £10 off the Next account.

Still need to go through DHs accounts and see what else we can pay off. Didn't get a chance Friday or Saturday. That might result in a sneaky update later, we'll see.

I think my target to get under £30k by the end of the year is achievable as long as there are no hiccups along the way.

    Morning,

just a quick entry to say we're back from our holiday. It was amazing. Didn't want to come home.

Will review the damage later - but definitely not added to the debt

Good for him! Has he also contacted the bank to lower his overdraft limit?

I like you diary, it's very inspiring. If you want some help about putting items and clothes back in the bedroom, come join us on the KonMarie thread :) It's superfriendly and inspirational.

Hi, thanks for reading. Definitely need to declutter so will head over

DH has completely removed his overdraft. If he ever had just £20 there he'd use it for the sake of it.

Just need to look at other things that we can pay chunks off on

Just updating some figures. Looking really good. We've hit the 10% of debt paid since my LBM :j A great achievement in 3 months. I'll be honest, not sure if we'll achieve 10% again in next 3 months though.

We've held out paying off more of DH debt as he's had to take today off sick due to serious back issues. No idea how long he may need off so we may need a buffer for the reduced pay over those days.

After a week off from surveys etc. I'm back on it again, ready to earn my next £25 for the annual bills account.

Feeling really positive at the moment :)

    High 5 gratefully accepted. :):D:)

I have to say without this diary I really don't believe I would've achieved this. I'd still have a high NEXT account debt...no doubt added to with more purchases. I'd have taken up the Littlewoods offers they keep sending me now I owe them nothing. I'd still be paying that ridiculously high interest Hitachi Loan (that one still embarrasses and shames me).

I had a week off from the diary and realised how easy it was to lose site of this important mission....thankfully not a realisation born from irresponsible spending or adding to debt.

I know it's years off but I already don't think I'd manage without this diary to keep me in check once the debt is either gone or really low. I look forward to updating figures and seeing them go down.
