I think the feathers are fine Rusty but I would position them last after you've put all the ribbons on. I always do it last because you've got a better idea of where everything is positioned.
Do you find that each time you make a cake you use different amounts of nappies etc? Its wierd but each one it put together slightly different!!!!
P.s loving the bunny - great minds think alike xx;)Little Miss Chatterbox

It was just to give me a rough idea I think ... not sure if I will put them on or not, think I need to redo the bottom layer then get a blanket so it at least looks finished even if I still need to fiddle with it!!
When I do my cakes I always use the same amount of nappies, however I also have a spreadsheet telling me exactly how many goes in that tier, that tier and that tier if that makes sense, also have the same for cupcakes and budget ones. however this one I have used more as they are smalled ones as I mentioned, I think the shape is nicer aswell thoughwill do have a fiddle. Thanks for your help.
Where did you get your spotty ribbon from? I've spent ages looking for pretty spotty ribbon and ended up settling on baby foot prints and baby writing. I just can't find any locally
Sounds great Chazzy lucky you!!!
P.S my bunny was reduced to 50p from £3 so I had to give her a new homeRaising kids is like being held hostage by midget terrorists0 -

I've found that depending on what talc i use ( been using the large Johnsons recently cos it was only a £1 in Asda) and which bath bombs I use it does affect the number of nappies i use. As a general rule its about 35 - 40 but obviously the bigger ingredients the less I use. If they are for close friends I also put in rattles so again this affects it.
I think after the blanket and ribbons are on the feathers will look even better. !!
I buy on my ribbons online in 20 m rolls - its expensive but they do last. I think I bought the last lot of Ebay but I have bought previously from Cloverdale Mice and Ribbon Mad. I use the tiny hands and tiny feet ribbons a lot. I really like Hello Baby ribbon too but not going to order any more until i've used up the tiny hands ribbon first.
I find the spotty ribbon tends to go with all the cakes so its quite a good buy.
Off now to visit my Nan and will make a start this afternoonLittle Miss Chatterbox

ThanksWill look on ebay, didn't think on there tro be honest however I am a swine as I work out how much it is per metre then go hunting to see if it is cheaper for me to go to a big craft warehouse and bulk buy there! only thing is the big warehouse is a fair way from us so sometimes it is worth the visit, othertimes it isn't. Will look and see though.

The feather on the left hand side of the cake as you look at it is annoying me, it keeps flicking up ... honest opinions on the cake please?? I still have to get a blanket for the bottom but I have re rolled it and it has gone from 10 inches round to 12 inches round
45 nappies in this one, a vest, socks, blanket (soon) muslin square and teddy. Need to find a hideyhole for a sleepsuit, failing that I will fold it and place it underneath the cake so it can't be seen. Realy love the baby ribbon on the middle tier, she only had just over 1 metre of it though!
