Popkins the square cake would look good for a Christening! I tried square once but wasn't happy as couldn't get it "square" enough! I love the pink one, it does look fab wrapped.

Julie your stall looks fantastic! Glad you had a good day.

Good luck to all you ladies who have fairs today, it's a beautiful day here.
  • Thanks for that Kim_impossible. I'll try sainsbury's next week then. I want to keep it as affordable as possible. The lady has a £20 budget so I don't want to blow too much on the blanket. I've also just been re-reading some of the previous posts and people have said primark so I might see if I can go into the city to see if they have any.

    Thanks again.

  • No problem undercover angel- im new to thread and havent actually made a cake yet- so cant give any wisdom. still slowly reading the threads!

Thanks everyone!! Yes I thought it would be lovely as a Christening Cake too - oooh will look out for a grey teddy/soft toy although for now I have actually put a white brush & comb set on the top now & also thinking it might be nice with a silver photo frame?

It was actually pretty easy to do the square - especially the bottom tier just did four 'banks' of nappies to get the square shape - no rolling needed!! Will post pictures when I get another mo!

Julie - your stall looked lovely!! Lots of hard work & lovely bits!!

I too really want to find some lovely white blankets - not seen that lovely one in Sainsbury's - would love some of those!! The only one I've bought so far is the white cellular pram blanket from Matalan for £4 - any others I've seen have been waaaay too expensive!

    Hello again everyone.

Julie, your stall looks fabulous. I'm determined to keep up with the thread now after my massive 3hour catch up the other night!

I'm having a nightmare finding nice white or lemon blankets: I've tried Tesco, Asda, Dunn Elm, Home Bargains, InStores. Any further suggestions?

I've seen cream, pink, blue and even green but no white or lemon in any of my local stores.

    Thanks.x

Oh by the way the lady who asked me to make the cake for £10 was really impressed, I was pleased with it too once I'd wrapped it.
Hi, have you tried primark for your blankets their really soft and only £3 x
