Thanks for that, The vest is so little though and when I fold it it does not fit around the nappies!
None of the vests that I use fit around the whole of the cakes, but once the ribbon, cellofane, bow/ribbons are added, I don't think it really matters.
I just secure the whole thing with string, then use 2 pins, one on each arm to secure in place.

Rusty, love your pooh cake, I think the brown ribbons co-ordinate it brilliantly.

And that blue dog is just gorgeous ........ you've teased me with one of those ones before
My Home Bargins never has any of your cute teddies.
I see you've got your head around your bow maker too.

Oh and I must say 'thank you' ...... that flippin cowboy teddy turned up this morning ;) ....... hmmmmm, can't really put it off now can I.
Less than 2 months now to get my head around it.
I'll warn you now, if it stresses me out too much, I'll be transfering the order to you :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Hi Can I ask what size vest/clothes you are using? Most of us tend to use bigger sizes I believe. I always use 3-6 months and they won't go around the full cake however they will cover the front like on Candys picture :)
Me too, I always use 3-6 months (and in the baby gro's ...... which always seem to look huge anyway, especially when given to a newborn :rotfl::rotfl:, still better too big than too small).

Candy, he was a real bargain. Originally £8.99 from Mothercare and got him for £2.70:rotfl: I really wish I had bought more. If I see them again I will get you one.

Think I have already said it but will say again, good luck to all those who have fairs :)

I have just finished 2 cakes, a blue single tier for my sister, and a 3 tier winnie, The red ribbon looked rubbish so I went with Brown and then covered it in some white organza looks quite nice, Thanks Becs for the brown suggestion! I am not normally one for using browns but quite like it on the cakes :)

Doh, thats where I messed up! My vests are 0-3 months, silly me, I will learn!!

    Thanks Candy :D

I have indeed teased you with the dogs before ;) My home bargains now doesn't sell teddies :( ... I need to visit the other ones in the area and see if any of them has them :( luckily I still have a dog (which has now gone) a pink pig and a cow from there in stock then loads of ellies :D

Feel free to transfer the order to me ... I have been dreaming about your cowboy cake :rotfl: And when I go shopping I look for bits you could use .... ;) so stop putting it off and get it done! ... I am in the process of making up some new ones from the website, don't think anyone has done this kind before well as far as I have seen on all websites/ebay UK and US and .com  may be horrible but will see :) If I lived closer Candy I would come help you put it all together :)

Bella - quick question, I noticed you had a giraffe cake (think it was a luxury one?) on your site, what is the ribbon you used? I want to make up a neutral cake with a teddy I got yesterday but don't want to use standard ribbons i.e spots or ginghams, I was thinking giraffe print would be too much but don't want it to be boring and plain either?

Great cakes Rusty- the brown ribbon looks really good.

The ribbon I used for the giraffe cake is from Costco (kirkland)- comes on 47 meter rolls for about £5.85 I think. It is gorgeous and wired edged so easy to get the bows shaped well. It looks fab with neutral cakes and have used it on one of the mini cakes too.

    Thankyou Irlip :)

Poohbear is actually a comfort blanket and you can stuff the blankie bit inside him to make him fat if that makes sense? he was quite expensive for a topper at £6.87 from asda (toy aisle) but looks lovely :D

    Irlip,
I love that duck he is so cute.

Rusty I think the Pooh cake looks great and the ribbons go really well on it.

Right now got to go and do some housework before the parents come tomorrow.
