Hi All.. yes they are hand knitted. I dont knit them. wish I had the time .. I get them from a lady nearby. not cheap but then hand knitted garments aren't these days. but I do like to use them on the more expensive cakes. plus it makes a change from the usual items i use.
rusty the blanket is one of HB's. they come with the matching doggy rattle thats sat on the top. i like them as i can match the colours up bottom and top. they have blue, pink and cream
I have rolls and rolls of the cello cos i get bored using the same ones. Lol
anyway gotta go ladies I'm away till monday now so please don't post too much or else I'll be up all night catching up.
MMMM maybe I should buy a mobile internet sim card then i can take the lappy with me to the caravan..:rotfl:0 -
Just a quick question for all you ladies that do fairs, do you have Public Liability Insurance?
How do you go about getting it? How much does it cost?
I have had the offer of a table at a fair in June. I have not done one before but they want Public Liability Insurance, what do I do?
Thanks0 -

Hi, I needed this insurance too recently....I was getting quotes from £360:eek: to £220 at the cheapest for a year when I only needed it for the day! However some kind person on another board here (insurance or small business I think....oh you can look at my previous posts and find it!) told me to join the National Federation for Traders Asoc and not only can you legally trade anywhere in the country from a market stall but one of the member benefits is 5million public liability ins. with Zurich. All for the princely sum of £48 for the year!! Just google it and you'll find it x
so please press my :T thanks :Tbutton x

Winnie the Pooh items – Asda always stock these and the prices always vary dependant on the stock. So you would have to look in the store for prices. Available in pink, blue or neutral
Matalan: Sorry I have never bought anything for my cakes from here, However I know Moonpenny does and also a few others so maybe they would be kind enough to let us know some details then I can update this post.
Dunelm Mill
Fleece blankets - £1.99 Variety of colours.
Nappies – We all have the internet so before you go out and buy look at the supermarkets websites (Tesco, Morrisons, Sainsburys, Asda) they will all have some variant of deal on the nappies. Also check boots and remember club cards and advantage cards! Most nappies at full price work out at 11p each. However you can get these as cheap as 8p a nappy if you shop for the best deals. I recently managed to get them for 8p a nappy so my cake worked out to have just over £1 extra profit on.
Also look for deals on the clothes, check out sales, most places have vests and sleepsuits in the sales and in Asda you can pick up sale sleepsuits for £3 and also packs of 7 vests for £3.
Baby toiletries
Again check out supermarkets etc, however if you have a poundworld, pound shop or anything similar also check in here as locally I can get the same items from there and obviously they are £1 instead of the £1.70-£1.80 from supermarkets.
Last but not least Pricing.
Work out how much per item you have paid. i.e 7 x vests from asda = £5 so 1 x vest = £0.71. Always charge this price even if you had the item from a sale. The same rule applies with nappies then you will never be at a loss.
Hope this helps someone .... right now I shall go and make a nice hot cuppa tea as my current one is sat on the side cold!Moonpenny wrote:Rusty, to add to your list – Matalan – pk of 5 bibs £2 in pink, blue, and yellow. Burp cloths 3 for £2 in Pink, Blue and Cream mix. Blankets, £3 and dearer.
This is really helpful!

This is lovely. Can I ask what is that one the bottom tier: the bit that's folded up? Is it part of the towel or an extra bit? How do you get it to go like that please?
