Bexster what way are you folding it up?

I go length wise as it needs about 3m to go all the way over the cake?

    Dos this make sense?

    Bexster,

If it's a round cake on a round board I would go with the tube method. roughly measure the circumference of the cake and then measure the cello a couple of cm wider. I then lay the cello out and bring the sides together overlapping by a couple of cm and tape up the seam. You should then have a tube that is the same size or tiny bit bigger than the cake circumference. Slide the tube over the top, I then balance the cake on my hand and pull the tube down so there are appx 5-10cm below thew cake board. Fold these under and then balance on the edge of the table and tape up underneath.
If you understand any of that you're a genius! :rotfl:

Thanks bec i get that one! I get that for covering the cake just as a viewable cover but how do you do it so it is all gathered at the top rather than fastened at the bottom/

    Thanks again

Sorry Bexster forgot to add "gather together at the top and add a bow to finish."

Bellag taught me this one and I now do all my cakes like this. If you're using a really wide cellophane and it's only a single tier cake you might need to trim it down at the top after it has been gathered.

Thanks Bella, I re read it and it didn't make any sense to me and I knew what I was talking about! :rotfl:Do you do the same thing with your tube, tape it up befor putting it over the cake? If not I have absoloutely no idea how you manage it unless you are an octopus!

Bellag blimey! That is some going! :T

A friends oh is a keen amateur photographer, he's very good and has one a couple of national competitions. Anyway he saw my pics on the website and leaflet and has offered to redo the pics for me as he said he can make them look fantastic! So I've got to make one up for him to have a go with. Waiting for my new ribbons to arrive first as I've ordered some of the chiffon "sshh baby" ones.
