Sorry Bexster forgot to add "gather together at the top and add a bow to finish."

Bellag taught me this one and I now do all my cakes like this. If you're using a really wide cellophane and it's only a single tier cake you might need to trim it down at the top after it has been gathered.

Thanks Bella, I re read it and it didn't make any sense to me and I knew what I was talking about! :rotfl:Do you do the same thing with your tube, tape it up befor putting it over the cake? If not I have absoloutely no idea how you manage it unless you are an octopus!

I tape once whilsts holding the tube around the cake then carefully lay the cake down on its back and slide the tube down and tape tape tape! Yeh sometimes the tiers come apart when its on its back but they just go back together when I put it up again no problem.
Failing that I get my hubby to hold it up while I tape :D

Thanks so much ! The penny just dropped and it was like a total eureka moment then I actually shouted out YESSSSs like some sort of loser! It looks fab and I presume for the multi tiered ones you just make the tube longer?

    Thanks xxx

Bellag blimey! That is some going! :T

A friends oh is a keen amateur photographer, he's very good and has one a couple of national competitions. Anyway he saw my pics on the website and leaflet and has offered to redo the pics for me as he said he can make them look fantastic! So I've got to make one up for him to have a go with. Waiting for my new ribbons to arrive first as I've ordered some of the chiffon "sshh baby" ones.

That sounds brilliant. What sort of prie are people charging for basic one tiered nappy cakes mine would have 22 nappies, one muslin, one comfortblanket and personalised chocolater letters?

Also Becs what is shh baby chiffon?

Just got in from babysitting, and there is so much on this thread again, I will never get to bed! Thanks all, for comments on my shoe cakes (got loads of shoes but mainly girls – think it was a mistake but too late – I will have to use them)

Thanks threelittlepigs for the tip on Ikea but havn’t got one here. It would have been great!

Rusty – I bought a kitchen roll thingy but reels wouldn’t go over. Will have to look for a thinner one. I get most of my ribbon from the market in town so have got quite a few different colours etc (where I have made a mistake usually and it doesn’t go) but it was getting too expensive. Only just started buying by the reel but it’s a big outlay.

Love all the blogs everyone has done – how do you all find the time?

Wow! Bellag, you must be shattered! Are they all for your web-site?
