You could use Pull me ups instead of nappies, maybe a dinner set, trainer cup, dress or pjs

kr15snw, I think you will have to fold your blanket sideways, a bit like I have done in my "Shoe cake" below. You could tie the ribbons so you can see the picture.

Irlrip - For your blanket, it would be great if you could get hold of a white lion or something white. In Next they have some lovely white velour teddies but I think they might be too big. Is it for a boy or girl?

Hi everyone! Does anyone know where I can get some nice "cheap" hairbrushes from? I would prefer plain with no pictures and ideally white or pastel colours but all I can find is the ones with pictures on.

    Hi Moonpenny,

I saw some on ebay a while ago, but they can be quite expensive with postage unless you need a few. How many do you want and what's the most you want to pay?

PS. Fab cakes everyone! I've been lurking for a while and plan to make my first nappy cake for my friend's baby due May 1st! Hope it turns out even half as well as yours!! :-)

Hi Moonpenny, your cake above is soooo beautiful! I love it so much I would buy it myself if I had the money :rotfl:

Not sure if you have an ethel Austins near you but I know they do pastel colours and also white hairbrushes, although I can't remember if they are plain or not? I think they are though. Also poundland has them in, although I think they do have pictures on them.
    Sorry I can't help more!

With regards to the cake for a 1 year old, you could use pull ups like Nikki mentioned but these would be very expensive and i'm not sure how well they would roll? they are around £4.50 for 15 or 16. You could also use bigger nappies which would be cheaper Size 4 or 4+ would be about right, or take the safer option and go with 5's! For a topper you could use a little puzzle type toy which is age appropriate? or even a little drawing board. (something like this)

they are from ELC and are £4 but they sometimes have character ones.

    HI
Well trying to make a start on a three tier cake and can't work out how to get baby grow to sit on , i think i might be folding it wrong since its looking a mess, does anybody have any ideas ? thanks

have you all joined the tesco baby group? if not join i am using voucher £1.50
off pampers against they own nappies , now not sure if you approve of tesco nappies but for learning i thought it would be better than wasting money on good ones. I got 24 1st size 1.64 for 14p using the vouchers

Moonpenny - these are the bibs to match, so probably a boy.

Irlip in some stores they actually sell the teddies I think so you may be able to get something from in store if you have one?

I have just recieved a provisional order for a triplet cake!!!
A friend of a friend is having triplets so she wants a cake but has asked me to make a mock up of the triplet cake and also a twin one if possible as she is having 2 identical and one non identical but one of the identical twins has a slow heart beat so may not make it :(
Not quite sure how to do a triplet cake but I have a fair few ideas of different designs for it so I will see. I have a bit of time to do it so I can practise away :)
