Well done on the sales Irlip!:T

    Juju,

I do my cupcakes in plain bakery boxes with nice ribbon around. The first one I did I asked my local bakery if I could buy one from them, they just gave it to me (was buying a cake at the same time though!).

Yummy looking cakes! I think a cake box like yours could be easier to get hold of. Are they glass cherries on top?

Well I can resisit no longer!! I HAVE to make a nappy cake and I HAVE to make it now!!! I don't care I have no-one to give it to! That will come ha ha!!

Anyway, I have a few bits now but obviously need to go and buy some nappies!! Now I'm totally clueless when it comes to nappies (having no LOs of my own!!) so would really appreciate any advice you ladies can give me. Have read back on the thread it would appear that either Huggies or Pampers size 3 seem to be favourite - I did have a quick peek in Morrisons when I popped in for couple of bits earlier and OMG it looked very confusing - looked like there were different options - super dry and the like!! Anyway, my question is which are in fact the best ones to get (you mummies will know I'm sure!!) and also where is the best place to get them at the moment - ie. what are the really good deals going on - saw something mentioned about a special deal in Asda or something the other day I think...

Anyway, I just want to get the best nappies for mum/baby but at the best price too. TIA

    Hi Popkins

I have used size 1 newborn Huggies in my 2 cakes. I think its nice to use a 'good' brand if you are giving a nappy cake as a gift but thats just my opinion. I saw newborn huggies in Tesco reduced today if thats any help.

I got some huggies size 5 for my little one reduced in Asda this week because they had tons of stock left over from their Baby Event fortnight. Your local Asda may have some in a smaller size (1, 2 or 3) but don't quote me on that!

I think I may start using size 2 or 3 nappies in any future cakes I make because I think people on here have mentioned that the recipient can keep the cake for longer because the baby hasn't grown into the bigger size nappies yet (if that makes sense)

At the moment Tesco's are selling Huggies size 3 box of 102 for £7.98

Has anyone made a baby clothing bouquet? Do you just use the flower heads off artifical flowers, or do you use the hole stem and put the artificial flowers in separate?

    Hi Juju,

They are glass buttons from dunelm mill that look like cherries. I use florists wire threaded through them and then pushed down through the centre of the socks.

    Hi Julie

Those are gorgeous. I don't think mu cupcakes look as good now :o. But yes a box like that would be perfect, or even one with less spaces would do.
A friend of mine gets them for me i could ask her where she gets them from ;) i might have a spare one if you cant find anything
