Fingers crossed it works (and toes lol)

My daughter came to visit and we made a Nappy Cake for her friend who has just had a baby.

It was the first attempt so I jokingly said well we have all the Ingredients, Just hope that it rises to the occasion and doesn't flop in the middle.

I had a Roses tin (now empty of course) from Xmas and she decided that the swirl method would be easier to try than having to roll up individual nappies, which was actually much easier to do than we thought it would be.

She really enjoyed doing it. We got it all wrapped up in cellophane and off she took it home. I then realised we had completely forgotten about putting ribbon round the layers, wouldn;t mind but I had sepcially bought the baby ribbon for it! I asked if she wanted to take the wrapping off and put the ribbon on but decided to leave well alone and put it on the next one lol.

I was chuffed with my attempt at the bow as well... that turned out a lot better than I thought it would. I bought a couple of rolls of the tearing ribbon at a local florists and had a practice.

Thanks everyone for all your help, sharing your ideas and giving me the Inspiration.

It is great and your garanson looks so cute.

I have not made many but it does get slightly easier the more you make.

Yayyyyy!!!!! Finally found the elephants. Thanks for the link Shadsy.
Don’t know why, but it is a totally different look website to the one I get. Rusty, it sounds like yours is the same as mine. Thought I was going mad! Bit strange though don’t you think to have different ones?

Hi xkymx, Are they the Burp cloths from Poundland? In my Poundland, each pack has 2 flower ones & 2 stripe ones. Looks like yours are all flowers.

Irlrip, Your pink cake is really cute and your cream ele ones look scrumptious!

cumbrianshopaholic, Well done! You have made a lovely job of your blue cake and you don’t notice “no ribbons”.

Just out of curiosity, have Asda cake boards gone back up to 52p each in everyones neck of the woods? Mine has.

It's the same here Julie, I managed to get blue and yellow in the one in Gateshead, and when we went to Newcastle today I managed to find a broken pack with badly damaged packaging and only 3 pink ones for 75p so I had a bit of a dig around and found the 4th, pushed that into the pack and got them for 75p ;) .. only pack of pink though, there were no blues but loads of yellows!!! Kym has kindly picked me up some pink ones, and bunbun is going to look in Durham for me :)

Hi I had a quick look on ebay the other day and there were a few on there, I searched for rose leaves and there were quite a few, work out the prices though as some were really expensive and others were quite cheap as you got more for the price.

I did ask on my previous post, where did you get your pooh blanket from please? My daughter is winnie the pooh mad and we are probably going to be decorating a bedroom for her birthday so a nice pooh blanket on her bed would be lovely ;)
