Hi Kitiaracat,
Very sorry to hear your sad news. :grouphug:
Where abouts are you in the country? If there are any large businesses around you, could you do a leaflet and drop it round to them? Most my orders are done through work for leaving pressies and a couple from people at work who saw them and then bought them for friends/relatives outside work?0 -
kitiaracat wrote: »Hi not been on this board for ages it all was a bit to much for me to read and see pics as i have just lost twins. I thought as my nappy cakes haven't done well i would have at least some bottoms of my own to put them in but it wasn't to be. I have loads of stock and made up cakes that are just sitting in the spare room that i need to sell.
Browsing the interent for craft fairs i have found a lady very close to me also doing nappy cakes and she is going to every craft fair with a 30 mile radius:rolleyes: her prices are dearer than mine and i couldn't even sell one so i don't know how she does it. /i was charging £20 for a 3 tier and she sells 2 tiers for £23
I did a fair before xmas took about £40- £10 for the stall so £30 on other bits and bobs but didn't sell any cakes.
I would love a little website but haven't a clue how to start hubby at uni so he hasn't really got time to help me.
Kitiaracat, sorry to hear about your loss, Sending big hugs, stay strong. xxRaising kids is like being held hostage by midget terrorists0 -
Have you got a Matalan? They have blue ones and pink similar to the pink I have used.
I love the bobbly ones but don't have a HB here.
Hi yes there is a matalan about 10-15 miles away, don't go there that often but will go and have a look and price up some things I think. Well done you have done a great job!
Now you mentioned the blue ones I seem to remember someone else using them? was is Becs? or Moonpenny?Raising kids is like being held hostage by midget terrorists0 -

Fabulous cakes again everyone. Nice to see some new ones too. Been quite busy on here lately which is great. It's good to bounce ideas around.
Shelley - talking of blankets, I bought 3 cheap £1 ones from B & M and when I got home, 2 of them were really dirty inside and 1 had a big flaw. I am taking them back but will cost me more than I paid for them. Really annoying!
Iririp - I got the blue blankets from Matalan. I love them. I prefer the fleece ones to the furry ones but I use both. I think they have blue ones with aeroplanes on, at moment.0 -

Just a gentle reminder to all those who want to stock up on stock ... Asda have their baby event this week, started yesterday I believe, nappies are cheap, vests are down from £5 to £4 and sleepsuits are also £4 so might be worth having a look.
hope it helps someone. Not sure what else is reduced but I am going to head down there shortly so will try and remember prices to report backRaising kids is like being held hostage by midget terrorists0 -
I'm back ... what a hellish trip, they had a stand as you walked in and they were doing hand prints (run by huggies) free keepsake which I thought I would do with my little girl ... anyone would have thought I was stabbing her the screams and temper which came out of her! she wouldn't stop
... everyone was staring at me and I hate it when you hear kids screaming and misbehaving when in supermarkets etc ... yet this time mine was one of them .... !!!
Anyway if you have a small child then head down there today as you get a gift bag which contains some
kleenex kids wipes (toilet ones) RRP £2 ish
Jar of baby food (could hide in cake as quite a good date on it!) RRP 60p ish
small pack of kids kleenex RRP 60p ish
Pack of travel huggies wipes RRP £1 ish?
pack of baby tomato pasta sauce RRP £1.50
There wasn't much in my asda babywise which I was quite suprised about however here goes as follows
Vests - pinks and white, blues and white, and green, yellow and white - all of them pretty much plain but looked lovely and only £4 instead of £7 (pack of 7)
Sleepsuits - £4 instead of £7
Pampers nappies massive boxes of about 104 ish? they were priced at £10 and then the active fit at £12 obviously the amounts in them change due to size.
Huggies nappies box of 115 ish? (smallest was size 3) £15 which I thought was quite expensive as it works out at 13.9p a nappy, however it comes in a cardboard winnie the pooh storage box and also has a pack of huggies wipes and a £5 voucher inside so really only costs £10
They had tommee tippee cups and active bottles aswell as tommee tippee weaning spoons for £1 (spoons were 4pk - maybe some good for Julie?)
Packs of Johnsons wipes box of 6 for £5
Huggies Disney princess/cars potty training kits with the potty and pull ups.
Hope this helps someoneRaising kids is like being held hostage by midget terrorists0
