Be careful Julie I have had several things like that ... make sure they are based in the UK and also if you decide to go ahead make sure you add some more on top (pricewise) as she will be making a big profit on what you sell to her and will probably be passing them off as her own!

Just make sure you check properly.

She does have an ebay shop and it is a baby one and also in the U.K if she does get back to me i will ask for her phone number and call her just to make sure

Shelley, I love your new cake you "knocked together" in super quick time. It takes me ages, I think I have it all worked out until I come to the ribbons and then they don't go, so then I start messing about. Some great new colours coming through!

Can I ask you What size Photo tent you bought? (to fit the 3 or 4 tiers) I'm considering getting one.

I think the photo tent I've got is 80cm x 80cm - it looks huge but is ideal for the cakes as you can put more than one in at a time. You can get them on Ebay I paid approx £12 for it.

When i first started making nappy cakes it would take me 3 hrs to make one but now i can make a 3 tier in about 45mins so i'm getting quicker.

I'm a bit upset at mo just had a phone call from my Dad to say our family dog Abbie is very very unwell (she is a Dalmation and is 14 years old) and I have to take her to the emergency vets now. Its not looking very good so I'm trying to brace myself. I'm working afternoons today too so I don't know whats going to happen!!!!

Good luck with it Julie, although surely if she has an ebay shop then she can't sell them any better than your daughter can.

Good luck and fingers crossed, let me know how you get on :)

Thinking of you today Shelley, hope everything goes ok x

Sorry i didnt word that very well she does have a shop on the high street and it is a baby shop and she does sell on her ebay shop as well but not the baby gifts just big things like pushchairs and stuff like that.

Im still a little worried that she only wants me to send photos of all my stuff and prices so she can get someone else to copy them or even do them herself

i have spent 4 days reading thru this entire thread and i am about to start making my nappy cake tonight as my friend had her baby girl yesterday. as she didn't find out the sex i really wanted to wait untill we knew what colour to make the cake. so i have bought most of my "ingredients" including a john lennon bunny rabbit with crinkly ears that i got from the chemist for £1 bargain!!! wish me luck and i will get some pics posted when its done. all i need to get is ribbons but i thought i would wait and get them tomorrow when i see how the rest of the cake turns out. thanks for the ideas ladies and i only hope that ,mine turns out half as good as yours xx

Hello all, I am still lurking and reading the thread. Sorry I have not posted much at all these last two months but I seem to have just put the whole nappy cake thing on the side and am concentrating on my tutoring and teaching website at moment. I've got exams to mark at the end of the month also so busy busy lol. That and having gtwo little boys under 3 and under doesnt give me much time!

Anyway managed to get another two three tier orders this week and two for next week so happy.

I'm loving the cupcakes Julie and Shelley your cakes are just fab as usual! So many new people on here its lovely and I cant beleive we are on page 107 lol! Moonpenny- wow!!! your cakes are soooo professional so neat how do you do it!!??
I dream of having my own shop and selling nappy cakes, swiss rolls, towel cakes, cupcakes, clothes bouquets ect...maybe one day eh? lol

How are all your websites doing? seems people have no money left in jan so things are slow. I'm thinking of organising my own craft fair at Easter...something to get my teeth into and this area is crying out for that sort of event. Any of you know any good websites/links/forums i could look at to help me organise one?
Shelley hope Abbie is ok? Any news?

    Thanks Julie.
well so far i'm torn between a function room in a pub or a church hall. We are doing a pamper/shopping/craft event so beauty therapies and craft and other bits a bobs. For the ladies really but all invited. We wanted to charge for entrance and have a few nibbles and glass of juice/wine on offer, raffle prizes etc. Thinking of just asking for 10-20% of sales from all stall holders and nothing for actual stall that way if it is a flop then they wont mind or just charging about £12-15 for stall? does that seem too little/too much?
So far have quite a few people wanting stalls- but not told them costs as not decided.
Any advice on any of the above?
    B xx
