Well done for a good month's paying off! Sorry to hear you have had the electricity bill and now the news about your lenses though. I'm another for whom a routine optician's visit turned into something else - which thankfully hasn't developed but the hospital now checks me annually. I'd urge anyone and everyone to have eye checks, as they can find many things before they become a major problem.
I am sorry about your lenses though, and the enforced extra spending on glasses and so forth. Specsavers do have some good offers, and eventually what you save on lenses will pay for the glasses... but I'm sure you could do without that. I hope the heat pads do the trick.
Did you get a refund from Tesco?I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)
The sun's been out and I think I’m solar powered (Onebrokelady)

Beat the debt - I've got my whole family on the look out for a decent piano, we have seen some but they were in questionable condition and I don't know enough to be able to judge if its something that will be easily fixed by a good tuner or if its terminal. My son is doing grade 2 though and he needs pedals so I'm thinking I can only get away with the keyboard for a little bit longer.
Cherry fudge - I too sing the praises of the optician, my dad got glaucoma when he was 60 and it wasn't found until he was already blind in one eye and damaged in the other, he didn't go for his regular checks so I always make sure I do. I've had to go the the hospital before as my allergy was bad about 12 months ago but I thought it was just the solutions, hence paying a fortune for special solution. I'm still a bit gutted about the contacts but at least I can see which is the main thing isn't it. Tesco have said I will get a refund in 3-5 days so hopefully by the weekend.
Another NSD here, the children have gone to MIL this morning and aren't back until tomorrow, DH is on a night shift (which is a rarity) so I'm looking forward to night to myself. I'm going to have an hour cleaning and then stand and do the ironing while I watch something on the tv (which is a rarity - the tv not the ironing)
I now have the biggest pile of things that need selling and still haven't got round to it. I am determined to put a few on a Facebook site I'm on and see if I can get any takers, it might help with my super expensive month.

Enjoy the peace
Glad T3sco are sorting the refund. Maybe save what you budget from the contacts towards the next time you need glasses?

Well done for listing! I too have a heap of things to sell but I hope, if I ignore them long enough, they will list themselves.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

Cherry fudge - I was hoping that too, no such luck!
Had a couple of NSD except for budgeted items. I had my hair coloured Wednesday and then did pop to the shop because I need some foundation, but they didn't have my colour so accidental NSD.
I've picked up my new glasses and they are fab, so much prettier and more comfortable than my old glasses so it's reduced my upset about the contact lenses a little. They gave me a 50% off voucher that will last 6 months so I'm going to try and remember to maybe get another pair in the new year so that I have a spare just in case. Tesco still haven't given me my refund thoughI'll give them a couple more days then I'm going to get in to them.
I've just finished work and now need to quickly get packing because we are off to Wales in the morning for a long weekend (back Monday) with family. My lovely dad and step mum have offered to have the children for the week and we are gatecrashing for a couple of days. DH has been to aldi to grab a few bits that hopefully will mean minimal spends while we are there and the only budget that is going to be completely blown is the petrol! I've traveled 350 miles in a week at work so my full tank that usual lasts a month has lasted 7 days. I need to sit down and work out exactly what we have left money wise for the month so I know how much spending money we have for this weekend and when we are in abroad.
Well I've spent enough time putting off the packing, I better get cracking.
Happy Friday everyone!!
