I'm really not the best but I think, use a comparison site to see who's cheapest then see if they are on the cashback site themselves and what it pays, if not/if they are see what the cash back for using the comparison site is and go with which ever works out best
I'm sure there's a board for cashback/switching insurances etc and how to get the best, I know there's a guide on the main site written by Martin0 -
You can sometimes get small amounts just for doing the search on the cash back sites.Mortgage at 01.01.14 £119,481.83:eek: today £0 Emergency fund £5.5/5.5k & £200/200 cash.:jWeight 24/02/19 14st 7lb now 12st determined to stop defining myself by my mistakes. I really need to get into eBay robf, I don't know why but I just hate the thought of the posting and the feedback etc, I should think of it as a 2nd job and get motivated!
Thanks HI and INOD I will have a good research on the main site and see what's the best way. I have budgeted £300 so if I could get it a bit lower than that I'll be chuffed.
I'm back from first night out which was a surprisingly good night. They are all my new work friends and I was a bit worried the conversation wouldn't flow but it was fab, there were some properly filthy conversations which were hilarious.
I drove and spent £13 on the meal £1 on parking and £5 on a bottle of wine, I had a small glass there and brought the rest home. Just having a 2nd small glass now.
I have looked at the menu of where we are going tomorrow and as we are eating early we should be able to have 2 courses for £12.50 and cocktails are 2 for 1 so will be about £4 each. I have a lift there and back so hopefully, fingers crossed, might be able to keep the cost below £30.

I don't sell stuff on eBay anymore, the charges + PayPal charges soon mount up and you lose a big chunk of cash.
I use local Facebook selling sites and Gumtree - buyer collects, or I've even delivered for an extra couple of quid. I've sold a tumble dryer, table and chairs and other bits. It's a no brainier.0 -
Louby40 I am tempted by Facebook local selling page, I just need to pull my finger out and do it.
This morning DH has taken the children out, so I have been reading martins pearls of wisdom, firstly I've applied for a new credit card  however in my defence Martin said it is the cheapest way to get money abroadI don't know if I've been accepted yet but hopefully it will be a bit safer instead of taking euros with us we can use the card for purchases and draw cash out and there is no transaction fee plus the best exchange rate.
I've also been on the price comparison sites, to check my insurance, but shock horror my renewal premium is £100 cheaper than any of the prices on 2 sites. So looks like it will be simple, I may still see if I can have a little haggle, but it's only £38 more than I had budgeted so if I can get the other car for £38 under budget it may work out.
I am still in my pjs after my mse morning, I'm going to finish my coffee and then be a complete saddo and put my timer on and do a fly lady clean of the house while DH and the children are out (I normally make them all join in) but as I'm getting a lift from my DH to my cocktail afternoon I reckon I owe him one.

Always worth a phonecall
Hope you've had a lovely day x0 -
Really shouldn't be doing my spreadsheets at 11pm but just thought I'd input a couple of spends and 30 mins later I have allocated all of this months wages before I've even got paid and realised I have about £60 to last me next month
that is going to be impossible in the holidays.
I have got to pay:
Professional registration for the year £120
Car insurance £338
Speed awareness course £80 (a vast improvement on the £200+ I thought before)
Kids school uniform/ shoes/trainers £160 (damn their growing feet)
Gutted is an understatement.
It's months like this I just hope I can stay on track.
Today I went to get my daughter some new trainers, as her current ones are hurting her. She has only gone and grown another shoe size! She is now a 6, the same size as me, I definitely think puberty is hitting. Size 6 means she has to have ladies trainers, with ladies prices £36 were the cheapest ones we could agree on. While we were there I thought I would get my son his school shoes for September and, you guessed it, he has grown another size and is now a 7, so men's shoes and trainers with men's prices  he had a pair of school shoes and a pair of trainers for £60. So a cool £96 out of the kids clothes budget without any uniform!
On a brighter note last night was great, it was fab to see my friends and we had such a good time with lots of cocktails, I think I stayed within budget although by the end of the night it was all a bit of a blur I may have gone £5 over, but I'm still chuffed with that.
Hope everyone else has had a good weekend and are looking forward to the summer holidays, my poor DD still has this week in school, it seemed like she was the only child in England packing her school bag tonight.

Note to self - don't sit up until midnight doing sums and spreadsheets and then expect to fall into a calm, relaxed sleep. Today is going to be a long day. #knackered!
