We can't afford to live together and have children

My ambition in my job is irrelevant, working up doesn't pay much more I know it's weird but that's how it is I've looked into it and I've looked at changing career and anything that pays more requires different skills to the ones I have gained. I will keep looking for it but I cannot base the decision on the assumption it will happen
And of course, no-one can gain extra skills, can they?
That free education that the state gave you for all those years? Wasted. They give it on the off chance that you'll supplement it afterwards, and find a way to make a positive contribution.
May I be the first to say that I think, after reading this far, that I'm going to recommend that you don't jump into anything. Stay where you are, at home. That deposit, spend it. You might be hit by a bus tomorrow.
It sounds like this will be better for all concerned.0 -

Either way I'd say is just as damning. Seventeen years out of school and on a minimum wage, living with parents, unable to even envisage improving their lot.
Society should not encourage people like this to have children.0 -
I am a constant worrier and always have been and sometimes a situation like this comes up that for some reason really grabs hold of me. This is really what I want but can't shake the feeling it will all go wrong, sometimes I feel fine then I'm back to panicking again.
I have read so many conflicting views and predictions about the future that I don't know what to have faith in.
Am going ahead as I feel we will be in a worse position if we don't but it feels like I'm going against my head so can't feel good about it.
Just keep thinking about not being able to afford it, there being no way out, then repossession0 -

None of it, it's the future, so nobody knows.
If you want to live your life based on faith, join a monastery. Then all these concerns will be taken away from you.Just keep thinking about not being able to afford it, there being no way out, then repossession0 -

So buy a different house, one you can afford rather than the one you call your "dream home" I've lived in my house for 30 years, i'm still waiting for my dream home. Until i win the lottery it will remain a dream home. It's not rocket science, but you seem to think it is.0 -
That's the thing we can afford it now and to a certain point if it goes up. That will be the same with a cheaper house0

280 posts and you are still saying the same thing.
I'm sorry but you are either a troll or someone with such high levels of anxieties that you don't appear to be able to function normally.
I also suspect your 'dream house' (assuming it even exists) was sold many days ago.0 -
OP, I genuinely think you need to see a doctor for your anxiety issues. Your levels are way above normal IMO
I also hope the house hasn't been sold while you dithered...

I hope you are not the more decisive person in this partnership.0

I'm beginning to agree with some other posters and think this is truly a wind up!
You seem to have a lot of time on your hands, are you sure you work full time?
Maybe, focus on upping your income, instead of carrying on with increasingly boring thread!
For now, go off....DECIDE what your going to do, and then maybe come back and tell us your decision.
Im Out!0
