Well it has been an interesting week.

I started my new job, and I have had a annoying cough for the last 2 weeks, I felt dreadful the night before but went in, I managed to get a Drs appointment for the evening, I managed the day but it transpires I have pneumonia

    Hi Saturday Savers,
I am thinking of cranking my money saving efforts up a bit for various reasons. Quite a good day so far:
*Parked on outskirts of town & walked in so no car parking charges.
*Posted 3 ebay items. Got home to find another item had sold this morning & had received message from previous buyer who may potentially be interested in buying multiple items as a 'job lot'.
*Grocery shopping a bit over budget but only because we bought 2 chickens & some meat for next month to make use of Co-op dividend vouchers. Main shop at Aldi. Fruit from local market. The stall holder does a lot of fruit for £1 per so many fruit. I spent £2 & got 5 big peaches & 2 melons.
*No coffee while we were out. Came home, put kettle on & ate a home-baked mini-muffin each which I took out of the freezer yesterday.
*Started my new 'Pantry stock-up' for which
I intend to buy 5 of a different item (from a list of about 12 - 20) each week. Tinned kidney beans this week. As soon as I stacked them in the pantry, I could see that this method is going to work for us.
*Filled in gaps in garden borders with plants I've grown from free seed or had given to me.
*mr f & I constructed our climbing bean frame using entirely materials we had in the shed.
*Fed plants using free liquid plant food from our worm composter......all the rain has really washed it all through....a whole jug full.
*2 baths from 1 lot of hot water
*Spicy pulled pork shoulder in slow cooker. 2 ingredients were 'Use-it'ups' so that was useful. It will do at least 3 days of meals as it re-heats & freezes brilliantly.
*Did not buy wine or beer. Decided it'll feel more like a treat next weekend.
*Wash hair & dry naturally to save electricity.
*Knit more of my friend"s sock for the Presents Box.
*Nice night in together on the sofa. It's been a difficult week & we both just want to stay in, put the fairy lights on, close the curtains & watch a film.
Wishing everyone a nice relaxing and/or productive day.

    Feel better soon Lottebear...

I'm already rushed off my feet today - I've caught up with bestie, done minimal housework, taken ds to football and started my exam marking. I still need to go to my tutoring session and mark the books I've brought home this weekend. I'm supposed to be going to a wedding do tonight but I think I'm going to have to knock that on the head because I feel pretty rough today and ds isn't well either.

    Hi everybody,

I've spent most of today cleaning and reorganising my kitchen, I've found a few more bits to add to my boot sale stash plus I've got rid of some bits and pieces I'm never going to use (plus some flour that went out of date in 2015 :rotfl: )

My Hoover started working again which is a relief, I think it may just have cut out because it was too full.

I did a trip to the post office and supermarket. I spent more than I intended but I splashed out on a half leg of lamb for lunch tomorrow, I got a free bunch of rosemary at work yesterday so I will use some of that and some garlic studded into it.

Tonight I'm taking my mum out to her local H@rvester, I'm really looking forward to it, just what I fancy. The teens have YS finest Madeira chicken.

Hope you are all enjoying your weekend!

but I don't put in paprika and only a teeny bit of ground cumin. I also use a 1/4 tsp on garlic granules rather than fresh. Really yummy mmmmm

    Morning all :)
    Sun is shining here :D
Managed quite a bit of housework last evening, so feeling quite pleased with myself :)
    Today's plans look like this:
    Dog walks
Small shop needed, will write a list
Diced turkey out of freezer for a stir fry later :)
Bread bought from the market the other day out of freezer
Also found some bacon in there, much to OH's delight :rotfl:
    Clean insides of windows downstairs
Deal with a couple of shrivelled apples in the fruit bowl
Do anything needed in the garden :)
Fill up bird feeder, as the local sparrows are complaining :rotfl:

That should do to start with! Hope everyone has a good day :)

Well, the sun soon disappeared and the wind and rain returned :( Got a bit wet walking to the supermarket. Got back, and DD and GD had invited themselves to lunch :rotfl: DD likes me to make her sandwiches, hummus and bits from the fridge / garden with plenty of HG leaves and herbs. Little GD just wanted cheese in hers. Don't seem to have done much else :o or not yet, anyway.
*Got a couple of plants from Waitrose's clearance shelf, only 99p each for nice perennial herbaceous plants that just need a bit of TLC. Now planted either side of a stone pillar in the garden :)
    * Fed the strawberries and quince tree
*Made stir fry, included the flowering spikes that are appearing on my earliest rocket plants :)

Now about to tackle the washing up and make some coffee. Early night I think - I have taken to the spare room as OH has a cold, but don't sleep so well as in my own bed. Still, no doubt I slept better than I would have done with OH snoring and crashing about all night! I will see if there are a couple of little jobs on that earlier list and tackle those. I don't think the windows are going to get done tonight though!

    Evening all :coffee:
Well - today hasn't gone as planned... I was supposed to be out at my cousin's wedding do this evening but dh is too poorly for babysitting, and ds is also poorly. It's a shame, but thankfully I got to have dinner with them all yesterday evening so I haven't missed out altogether.
Other than that it's been the usual non stop - I've had a busy day.
DS is definitely poorly, but football was awful - his team finished bottom of the league and they lost 8-0 today - lots of tears all the way home.
I did my tutoring and a tiny top up shop for more frozen chicken bits that I can't seem to supply fast enough for the kids.
Also made a pretty decent start on my exam marking this evening. I've had to stop for the moment because my brain's had enough and I'm tired but at least it's all underway.
Hoping for a better night's sleep than I had last night and a clear head in the morning.

Evening all. Been awol, apologies. RL getting in the way (that and I got the hump about another thread and someone moaning about tax credits and then declaring overpaying her mortgage with them  not what they're intended for :( feel sorry for people that need them that are getting theirs cut - and all the hard working folk out there, that for one reason and another aren't eligible).

Anyway been busy and keeping the faith despite busy week:
£5 voucher arrived in post for survey I did
Earned more on pr0lific, up to nearly £20 :D
Returned 3 items that I'd ordered as possibles for weddings were attending (would have only ever kept 1)
4 items sold on fleabay, will relist the others - 2 packaged, one just paid
2 orders from my second job. Decent profit :T
    Lots of meals from stores
Need to withdraw cb from mine and hubby account and pay to LPDF
Managed 3 runs this week :T PB today for 5k :A
Made chocolate tiffin with dates today
Been logging calories since Monday, very helpful. Thanks for the inspiration foxgloves
Managed 4 loads of washing dried in Thursday, the only sunny day this week. Will do rest tomorrow.

Twins this is the hummus recipe I use, freezes well too :D

    Hope everyone is ok.

Perps, i have to avoid some threads and posters that make my blood boil and one whole forum because of the propensity of a few of the regulars to kick people when they are down. Stay in here where it's all safe and warm :grouphug:
