I got a message from them just after the account opened, they offered £2500 but i reduced it to £100 using the slider.0 -
My account verification status is 'submitted' - I contacted them and they advised that once I am fully verified then I will be made aware if I am entitled to an overdraft on the home screen. She did say it can take 2-3 days to be fully verified, which seems to be going against what the majority of people are saying on this thread.0

I also had the overdraft offer during the application process which included the verification (it only took an hour or 2 iirc). Perhaps there was an issue with your verification?====0 -
Process for me so far:
1. download app
2. register and get text advising to wait 6 days
3. google signup codes
4. sign up using code
5.enter all details, driving licence, address info etc
6. status advising me to wait, can take a day or so
7. an hour later get a text telling me I am ready to go
That's pretty much it. My verification status is 'submitted' and I have transferred £1 to it. I spoke to someone else to clarify and he said I will be verified later today. So we shall see.0 -

My account was opened and up and running within 5 minutes. Several of my colleagues were the same too, no delays. I love it, used the card on holiday in July, no problems, used the funding transfer to move money from my other account by taking a photo of my debit card and have used the recommend a friend function too. Absolutely no problems so far. They respond really quickly to any questions too. Usually send them a message via FB as i dont do Twitter but i think they respond faster on Twitter. Not had to contact them since i opened the account though.0 -

My wife uses Starling. Code took about 4-5 days to arrive after it was requested. Sign up process wasn't difficult at all. There are some enhanced KYC requirements these days which probably require the video recording. Experience so far has been excellent - customer service response is fast and when she reported a small glitch in the Android version, it was addressed in the next update cycle. There were some questions on some of the transactions (I moved a large amount into her account) but those were resolved quickly.
The only hiccup I see in using an app only bank is the dependence on the phone's battery :-).0 -
Yes, the iOS App also allows the fingerprint reader to be used for access, Android is only via a code, but both have push notifications that pop up just like system notifications without needing code input.
The android app also allows fingerprint access (I have android and have used this since i joined on June.)0
