Overdraft £250 at 15%
My credit rating isn’t too great which may explain why my limit is lower than other people’s. It’s rare for me to be offered an overdraft though so I accepted it and can hopefully use it to build my credit rating more0 -

Interesting.
Another Clear Score report has been produced since my initial comment and my Starling account isn't listed on it.
Sometimes it takes a few months for new accounts to appear.0 -

It appears that Starling report to at least two of the three main CRAs.
Your overdraft limit is reported, even if you don't use it, so it may have a small positive affect.0 -

Mine doesn't show on Clear Score either, and I've had the account through 2 report cycles.====0 -

I literally just received a notification from Equifax that the account has been added. I will get my Clear Score update in a few days and will see if this is also now reported as it should be with the Equifax feed. I have had the account for around 3 months since available.0 -
Where's your evidence for "usually accessed with a fingerprint"? I know this is possible with many smartphones, but not with all of them, by a long way, and some of the banks' apps don't yet support fingerprint login. Your "usually" should be "sometimes".
The device is usually secured with a fingerprint even if the app is still password. You could argue that that is 2 forms of security compared to 1 where device and app both support fingerprint.0 -
How is Starling different from what Monzo plans to do in 6-9 months, i.e. when it evolves from prepaid card into a full bank account?
Are both app-based only, with no plans to provide access via the web and a PC?
Are the apps tied to a specific device only? Eg if I change my phone, I can’t just reinstall my FirstDirect app: I have to go through security on the phone first. How about with Starling and Monzo?
Is there any noticeable difference between the apps? Do both classify expenses similarly?
Can both provide printed banking statements upon request? Printed statements are still a common requirement for identification – online statements won’t do in most cases.
Will either provide statements in PDF and/or spreadsheet format?0 -

Starling can be installed on 3 devices at the same time.
When reinstalling on a device you reauthorise using another of your devices.====0 -

Just had a look, you can download statements from Starling as .pdf or .csv.====0 -
I have both Monzo and Starling - I admit I barely use Monzo anymore simply because the current account suits my needs more and Starling got in there first. But I do love the pink Monzo card!
So my experience:
- Yes if you request printout they will post it to you - I asked their customer service team when I was going through a mortgage (but mortgage provider was fine with pdf printouts so didn't bother)
- Starling has apple pay which I use daily
- Monzo has the ability to set targets for different categories every month, which Starling doesn't do but their blog says savings goals is coming which i imagine is similar? i hope this happens soon as it would be so handy for me!
- I also use Moneybox app, and Starling recently integrated with them, that was a nice bonus
- as far as im aware, both are purely app based. i remember reading a statistic that something like 80% of non-branch banking is done on banking apps rather than telephone or via web logins, so i doubt they'd bother unless customers really start demanding it?Giant London-sized mortgage (started July 2017) £472,561 /£499,000 Current LTV 85%
S&S ISA £947
EF: £15,000£15,000 100% to goal
Renovation fund: £7,275/£10,000 72.5% to goal
Car savings fund: £9,580/£13,000 73.6% to goal0
