I confirm that Starling only searched Call Credit. According to Noddle in my case they did four searches only one of which was a full credit search:Starling Bank Limited (Ar, Cr, Cval,Sa)

I've been really impressed with them.
Recently used the card whilst abroad on holiday and got a notification straightaway that I had used my card including the GBP cost.
My only bugbear is that it doesn't keep the reference on payments which makes it annoying to make a quick payment to my credit card or mortgage overpayment.0 -
Did anyone update their app today? There's a new section where you can create savings pots (essentially ringfence your money) for whatever you like, you add a name of the goal, a photo, target amount, etc.
I found the experience could be a bit better but am hoping they'll improve it as time goes on. But have to say i love having a bank app that also helps with budgeting and motivating me to set money aside!Giant London-sized mortgage (started July 2017) £472,561 /£499,000 Current LTV 85%
S&S ISA £947
EF: £15,000£15,000 100% to goal
Renovation fund: £7,275/£10,000 72.5% to goal
Car savings fund: £9,580/£13,000 73.6% to goal0 -

The new section on iOS 11, iPhone is "Goals". Not a separate account but a separate section of the existing current account. Make one-off contributions or set up a regular contribution. Money in the "Goals" section earns interest at the same rate as the current account - 0.5% on a balance up to £2,000 and 0.25% on balances above £2,000. A better deal could be obtained elsewhere.
Moreover, the money in "Goals" is not available for outgoing payments or repayment of overdrafts and there is no sweep function. So you're still stuck with having to move money in order to make payments or avoid going overdrawn. I would also anticipate that in the event of an unpaid debt to the bank then the money in "Goals" would be taken to repay it. Therefore off-setting and not really ring-fencing.
Also noted that in the app, settings is moved from bottom right to a cog wheel icon top right on the home screen.
Overall, a new take on the older linked savings account which doesn't really cut it in the interest earning stakes.0 -
I had a problem with an M&S cash machine today, it didn’t dispense the tenner but £10 was deducted from my account.
Sent Starling a message through the app, they responded with 5 minutes saying they’d sort it. Money was back in the account a couple of hours later and just received a follow up message to confirm all sorted.
Really impressed, no messing have to wait on the phone, no chasing up, no quibbling.
I suppose it says something about the industry that I’m impressed they responded quickly and solved the issue first time rather than that just being a basic you’d expect..
Very pleased with Starling account thus far.0 -
I'm trying to open an account but the app has been on "checking your details" for a week now. Is that normal?0
