For someone who's so worried about the state of their car, you're very relaxed about finding the cause of the issue.

FYI - I don't drive my car to work every day, and I have a sick 8 month old son, so I do have other things on my mind....
  • Well I read all the story and didn't get the ending!
What did the lights flashing mean? Did you get a code and is it fixed now.
I also have the dreaded spanner on my Meriva, so was looking for some answers>

    Thanks.

As mentioned get it plugged into a decent code reader as its logged a fault. Cheapo readers wont see it.

The OPs garage sound like a bunch of idiots and only managed to reset the oil life countdown, clear the logged code and waste his time.

When a dealer says they will give a car a "Full Service" before you buy it take it with a pinch of salt. They won't. Just get it serviced.
Mr Generous - Landlord for more than 10 years. Generous? - Possibly but sarcastic more likely.
  • I have tried 2 different good code readers that both picked up no codes.
Is it because it is only the yellow car with spanner light that comes on intermittently as opposed to the EML light that most code readers read?
Do I need the Vauxhall one to detect the car/spanner issue?
