The deceased must have paperwork relating to the marriage as the marriage certificate will have been needed in order for his wife to have gained a visa to enter this country. Do you have access to any of this?

If I were you, I wouldn't marry in Thailand. Too risky for my wife to find out.

The British Embassy in Bangkok might be able to advise you further. Dad's marriage details were noted there.

I assume you want this to contest the will/ do something about there being no will.

If the deceased wanted you to have their things, you would be in a will, and named, and a solicitior would have a copy.

Have you been to a solicitor to see what you are trying to stop/do is actually possible even if you manage to get hold of the marriage cert.

Might be worthwhile as you could be spending lots on energy on this with no positive outcome.

Depending on what it is, the solicitor might be able to put a halt on what you are trying to stop to give you more time, or even request this information direct for the wife if they feel you have sufficient grounds to ask for this.

The only reason I can think of why knowing a marriage date might stop something, is if you believe that the wedding is somehow not valid, perhaps due to a previous divorce not finalised?

I assume then that this is about inheritance, and that you would prefer it if the rules of intestacy meant his estate went to his children, not his partner?

It's very complex and thankfully the law is quite fair so her making me and my family homeless in a house I've lived 40 years that my mum wanted to leave to me in a will before she died but my dad stopped her as he said he would make sure I would inherit my home and always has confirmed over years has not been done. I've spent over £40000 on the house and left a beautiful house that I was going to buy because I was persuaded to move into our old family home as it would be mine.
Apparently 2 houses and a large fortune isn't enough for some people - not bad for someone who hasn't spent a penny on the houses ( my mum worked herself to an early grave sadly for my future security) . She also wants my home too.

So. Your mum wanted to leave the house to you, but actually left it to her husband, your dad.

He remarried and left the house to his wife despite saying he had left it to you?

Do you have the most recent will?
Forty and fabulous, well that's what my cards say....

So how will knowing the wedding date change your dad's will?
