I was shocked emmie it doesn't happen often :rotfl:

Busy day sorting odd jobs out around the house. A few bags of toys to charity shop. Some tins and dry goods to food bank. It's a shame there's no where to give frozen food too? My sister has dropped some things off and I've stuck them in the freezer, it's all things we won't/don't use though (chips, chicken nuggets etc some chicken fillets) might have to go hunt someone down who can make use of it. Seems such a waste?

Not sticking to the meal plan today. DS wanted to make a pizza. So he's eating the pizza he made and DD wants pasta salad easy for me ;) OH is having pulled pork and rice to use up some leftover pork from Saturday. Youngest having mash veg and gravy (left over's from yesterday)

Not much else to say. The weather's awful hence spending the day indoors doing the annoying bits I never get round too. Like sorting toys back to correct sets  drives me mad when they're mixed up :rotfl: got soup in the slow cooker and enough chicken to do the curry. Might make the rest into chicken and bacon sandwich filler.

You could do a chicken casserole in the slow cooker with the fillets. Save you dome money?

There's a free app called OLIO where you can advertise surplus food, their website says "OLIO is a free app connecting people with their neighbours and with local shops so surplus food and other items can be shared, not thrown away". I saw it on BBC breakfast news a couple of months ago :)
That could be good for getting rid of the frozen bits.

Last night's awful events mean my anxiety is above where it usually is and no sleep so generally feel like rubbish. Such a sad world we live in. Makes me sad what the kids are growing up into and I worry how we'll keep them safe :( I know realistically this is stupid but I just can't help it. Have double dosed my anxiety meds and beta blockers todayand will tomorrow and hopefully sort my self out to some normality again but in the meantime it explains any periods of being 'quiet'

I just wanted to say that I have been reading the London evening paper on the way home and there are some heartwarming acts of heroism and bravery associated with Saturday's events. However awful the events, we are surrounded by resilient and defiant people that make our communities what they are. Don't let the B**tards get you down Hidden, focus on some of the positives.

And another thing - two days working around the house and your diary has moved on so fast, I can't keep up!!

Hi Hidden, just popping by as you said hello in my diary. :hello:

You're always so busy that I'm tired just reading your posts.:rotfl:

Seriously though, you're doing a great job in really tough circumstances & should be proud of yourself. :T

Anxiety & mental health are so difficult to manage aren't they? But everyone I know has struggled with one, the other or both at some point in their life and often repeatedly. I wish your OH was more "there" for you as that extra bit of support would do so much good but at least your diary here is a safe space to get your thoughts & feelings out of your head a bit.

Thank you for all the replies. Well I didn't get an early night but I did just sit and sulk to myself for a while :o :rotfl:

Emmie I often say I feel like a cafe I'm sure everyone else doesn't make 5 different meals for 5 people :rotfl:

Suffolklass I totally get not letting them affect our daily lives, my oh is very much like it won't stop him doing anything and obviously he uses public transport to work etc right by where the Manchester incident happened. It's me that worries and can't make the realistic side of me take over :o Id like to say I'm feeling better about it all but I'd just be lying :o

Thank you for stopping by sashy I totally agree having here to get my thoughts out has definitely helped on the mood side of things with the kids/at home. Before I felt I could burst some days :o

Well the weather is just horrid.

I have no idea what we're going to do to keep the kids entertained today. Maybe go visit my mum after work and they can drive her mad for a while.

Tax credits did pay the £24 in, but it hasn't updated past today's payment to see what or when the next will be. OH wage should be viewable on his tax account later too so will keep and eye on that so can sort a list for Friday out. Other than that a pretty boring day.

Need to try and find some things to list on ebay that'll help with keeping us busy plus we need a new car seat for youngest very soon. So will tey to make enoigh to fund this before the 6 week holidays.

Hi Hidden - saw a mention of your diary on another one and have now caught up - you're doing so well!

You're quite right about other people not making 5 different meals, and to be honest I really think you need to sort that out. You do so much - you're just making a rod for your own back with this one. If you want to allow them some form of choice then why not have a rota of meals that you can cook and have a family vote on the following day's dinner each evening? Majority wins out. You can then set the meals to ensure that they fit in with youngests requirements but you get back the time you're spending currently cooking different stuff for different people, the kids start to learn that they can't always call the shots and sometimes have to fit in with what others want to eat, and you'll almost certainly make far better use of your tight food budget, too!

As far as your OH goes it does sound to me as though the message is settling in albeit slowly - so fingers crossed you WILL get him there eventually.

One suggestion I will make - you say you're terrible for skipping meals and not eating, but this will be causing your blood sugar levels to dip and peak badly - and that in itself may well not be helping with your anxiety in particular - the body is great at giving us hints when something is not quite right! I think you owe it to yourself to try to tackle the eating thing - aside from anything else you've got little ones who need to see their Mum eating healthily, no?

Keep on keeping on - many here have found that PAD's are the way to getting astonishingly large debt figures cleared so you are doing it right. :)
