Well reporting in with not a NSD
I was in such a low mood this morning I decided we where going out for the day because sitting in would only make it worse! Hence the NSD, it won't set decorating back much and I took money from survey money but treated the kids and had a coffee and bus fares.. and somehow £35 has left my purse.
It's the first time since starting this I've just thought F it and gone and spent on things we don't need nor planned.
Kids are fed, bathed and in bed and I won't be long behind them.
Hope all is well elsewhere x
ETA Should add in £15 was a game DS wanted for his Xbox so this is out of his own money x0 -
If you are happy and the smalls are happy having had a day out then thats £35 well spent missus.BUGGRITMILLENIUMHANDANDSHRIMP I TOLD EM! - Foul Ole Ron
It is important that we know where we come from, because if you do not know where you come from, then you do not know where you are, and if you don't know where you are, then you don't know where you are going. If you don't know where you're going, you're probably going wrong.

Oh but I did manage to fill my 20 listing limit on Ebay with some old things of mine. Listed why the kids were having their picnic and my coffee
We have some reduced veg in from Lid! and going to make casserole with some left overs from tomorrows roast. DD wants casserole in yorkshire puds one day this week. The rest will go with the meals so a bit more variety than what we usually have then made into soup when they become sad.
Now I'm having coffee and catching up on some TV when really I should be ironing and jumping in the shower:rotfl: neither are happening why I'm sat watching TV :rotfl:

Hey Hidden, sometimes you just need to go out and do something. I have days like that, especially in the school holidays when every day feels the same. I'm getting a bit antsy as have spent 2 days cleaning and haven't left the house much!
Your morning routine sounds really good. I struggle as my small ones, 4 and 5 yr old. Get up at 6am so not really much chance of me getting up before them, as if I got up at 5 they would just wake up and follow me down! Do you decide early on in the day whats for dinner and set the slow cooker? do you manage to get all of your washing, washed and dried daily? Desperately need some tips on organising my family and house. Has taken me all day to get the house sort of straight, and still haven't even hoovered downstairs or cleaned the toilets!!!! Any advice would be much appreciated!!! Feel free to PM if you have lots of things you think could help0 -

Only now I'm on top of the washing I get it done daily, but I do wash over the day. So in the morning I put my bedding/my pjs/my shower towel and any odd bits I find on. Then by the time the kids are up and their beds stripped the first load has finished so the kids stuff goes in. On a school day the washer goes back on after school with uniforms in (They only have one full set) and then again at bedtime with anything else plus night time bath things etc. On a non school day I do 3-4 loads on a school day 4-5. I iron everyday other wise I just wouldn't want to iron if I had a huge pileUsually why the kids eat dinner I iron the bedding etc then once they're in bed the uniforms anything else that's left.
When OH was here I'd get up at 4.30/5 so he could have breakfast etc before work. Now I get up at 6 they get up between 7-7.30. They'd sleep till lunch if I let them :rotfl:
I have to admit before my meltdown in March things had got way behind. It took 2 weeks or so to just get everything back in order. I mean 2 full solid weeks of full days of sorting everything.
I'm aware as soon as I let it slide it gets on top of me and makes me panic
My kids are 3/6/8 so older than yours, I really do think routine is the key though. I've always been very strict on bedtimes, even when they've protested against me. They are in bed every night for 7. They have dinner and are in the bath by 6pm, then by 6.30 they are out and ready for stories/drink and into bed. DS doesn't always go to sleep though and he can manage on 3 hours sleep if I let him. It takes a lot of effort for him to go to sleep. He doesn't get the TV or lights on anymore and now he's normally asleep by 9 but I still don't give on the routine even in the holidays0 -
Thanks for the tips hidden, I'll try to be more proactive in the morning, and clean as I go, can't hurt!
Hope you had a good day, I feel like splashing out a bit too as on the days I'm free it's rained all day

Oh and food.
I have to decide the night before usually as the majority of meat is frozen (bought fresh and portioned up and frozen) This works the majority of the time, if we end up with an unplanned swap or want something different I freeze in portions/save for the day after.
Hope this makes sense.
But generally we decide the night before. Like tonight they had Spag bol. The leftovers I've already made into lasagne and frozen in portions because tomorrow is Roast.0 -

If I miss my morning routine it really makes me feel behind all day
I do feel like I constantly clean on the go behind the kids but I prefer that to leaving it to once a day etc or I know it would feel 'too much'
Another thing I always make sure the kitchen sides/sink etc is clean before bed. I think coming down in a morning to a messy kitchen just sets the day of in a bad mood. Well it does for me but I am a bit strange :rotfl:0 -
Thank you so so much, so super helpful! I need to get all sorted then try and be organised I think. And doing bits through the day will help rather than me doing it every now and then. Your house must be spotless. as I write this, I feel guilty as I'm upstairs in my pjs and I know the dishwasher is full and clean, waiting to be emptied whilst the dinner dishes are languishing on the side...... But I have been cleaning non stop all day! Not a v good excuse I know. Will try and do better tomorrow following your inspiration.0
