I will speak to him and see, I don't want to do anything that will 1. get me in trouble and 2. lead him on. But we'll see what happens.

I really don't think we will need the food bank, other than milk we could make last what we have a while, if it comes to it though and it was a choice I had to make of course I'd do it.

Something will make it work, I won't give up ;)

    Thank you for replying x

He should still be paying you child support regardless of what benefits you have claimed. I don't think any of them take it into account now (I might be wrong). He should still be supporting his children.
You will get there, you are one very determined lady x

ETA: I hope that didn't sound bad, just wanted you to know you wouldn't be in trouble with any benefits if he helps. Can always do it as a bank transfer marked child support so if anyone looks it's there as proof.

Hope you get things sorted xx Like the others say, you should let them know your circumstances have changed.

I'm not sure if I'm reading right, but are you not receiving anything until your claim starts in September? Can you not put in a claim now which doesn't include the job and then change it in September? I know its a bit of a faff but you need some money coming in between now and then.

I agree he should be paying child support but I can completely understand why you don't want to ask him. I felt the same when my ex walked out on me when my son was young. You should be getting benefits as soon as possible, though. You can't be expected to live on thin air. I'm sure that you will manage - you always do but you should be getting some help now.

I was trying to squeeze into CAB but it doesn't look like I will get an appointment, so will find a plan B and work on that ;)

Morning everyone :D Wednesday it is, which means only 3 more school days (2 more get ups ;))

Plans for today aren't much more than yesterday, other than I need to finish the toppers for the teachers cakes! Otherwise they won't have time to dry enough.

Also have some surveys to catch up. DD is wearing yet another pair of school shoes but I think we've found some that work! It's only taken 8 months and 10 pairs! Anyway she's finally happy just as its the end of term :o They both loved their new classes and teachers yesterday! Both came out in wonderful moods. DD is still sad she has to leave 'the best teacher ever who is her best friend' but the teachers said well you know where my class room is you can always pop in :) It makes me so grateful knowing she looked after her as well as I could.

It is important that we know where we come from, because if you do not know where you come from, then you do not know where you are, and if you don't know where you are, then you don't know where you are going. If you don't know where you're going, you're probably going wrong.

On the TV thing, check how much longer the payments for the license are higher - you'll already have broken the back of the 6 months up front I'm sure and if it's close to dropping down I'd honestly say stick with it for now - but even if you do cancel now remember there will still be a few months when you'll have a valid license due to having paid up front.

Glad to hear that the new class/teacher try-outs went well and what a lovely thing for her old teacher to say too!

Not sure if I posted about cashing out £10 from panelbase, along with £5 Amazon requested from SB today.

£105.44 cashed out from PA Which with the above and the last of my bank balance pays this week rent (probably a few days late by the time it hits the bank but they are aware I'll be late)

Anything else now will go to the council tax, still £44.65 pending on PA so hopefully more will become payable.

Luckily PA is so much as a few month, 3, 2 weekly long studies have come to an end so a bigger amount. :D
