I only defrost if I've bought fresh and frozen it myself. However, a lot of bought frozen stuff is cook from frozen for best results. I think the main thing is that it's cooked through.

You are going to do amazingly well now OH has gone, go you, we're all cheering you on xx

We always defrost before cooking however we have a handy gadget that somehow makes it defrost quicker :D. It's a defrost tray. I can find the name if you like. We can defrost chicken breasts in less then three hours.

Hope you're okay Hidden and everything will work out fine. At least you have a good idea of what your income/outgoings are and you are no longer relying on bits of income from your OH. It gets easier every day xx

I defrost things on a metal baking tray over a cooling rack. Meat defrosts quickly as long as there's space for air to pass under the metal tray. It's all down to metal conducting heat/cold efficiently.

I only cook thin or small pieces of meat or fish from frozen--fillets, very small joints, steaks and so on. I'd be too worried about food poisoning to cook a whole chicken or pork joint from frozen. I'd be less worried about lamb or beef, but I still don't think I'd risk it.

Well another weekend over, but only 5 more school days :D

Roast dinner was a hit and curry ready to go in the slow cooker tomorrow. Sandwich filler made for salads/lunches during the week. The rest boiling to make soup.

    Cereal treats and biscuits made.

Kids have finished the boxes for the cupcakes for teacher gifts and they are drying. Tomorrow we will do the cards after school and Tues/Weds the toppers for the cakes, then the cakes on Thursday.

Formula 1 :D Left me happy
Tennis good game and happy with the winner :D

Going to finish the last load of ironing and then watch catch up things on TV I'll be lost when it gets cut off :o I've never watched so much tv :rotfl::rotfl:

I cook mince from frozen but always take particular care to make sure chicken and pork is defrosted. I always thought that was the general advice to avoid food poisoning. Does seem strange though when some frozen foods say cook from frozen anyway. I defrost in a microwave if I forget to get something out which needs defrosting.

Have you got a diary yet for free things to do with the children over the summer holidays - I saw your post re museums on Treadingonplaymobil's thread and I wondered if you had put in any date specific diary dates yet for the holidays?

    Sorry I missed this :o

I don't have any set plans yet :o I must get that sorted this week really.

    Morning :D

We are all up and ready a bit too early so have half hour to kill :o

I've even done my cleaning! Going to drop them at school then go over to my mums and do her ironing and windows for her.

Curry in the slow cooker for dinner. Plenty for the smalls for dinner and probably twice as much to freeze :rotfl:

DS seems to think he needs to try a batch of cupcakes before we send the teachers in  so I guess I'll squeeze a set in for the kids to eat.

Other than that not much to report.. 1000 phone calls to make and to chase the prescription up again...

Oh ETA Cashed out £10 from Panelbase to bank waiting for that to go in and at cashout on PA with quite a bit pending so going to wait until a bit more has gone over from pending before cashing out.
