"It has been good news for UK farmers," said Mr Herdwick, who said that exchange rates had made British lamb more competitive, securing more exports as well as extra sales at home. While imports declined during February, exports rose by 10 per cent on the previous year to 5,600 tonnes.
Oh what a beautiful typo that article managed to include - considering that Herdwick is my local breed of sheep.

So I ask myself. "Britain is one of the richest Country's in the World, where does the money go.
The British Empire and subsequently the Commonwealth dissolved a long time ago.
In case you hadn't noticed the UK runs a balance of trade deficit. To fund same the Country has to sell it's silverware. Only so many utility companies, airports, ports, hotels, office blocks, prime residential properties, farms, National Lotteries etc etc etc that there is to sell.
The UK compared to the Germans. Is very short sighted, i.e. jam today. Look at all the large German manufacturing companies that had an involvement in WW2. In some way they still exist today . Under German ownership as well.0 -

I am not a tax expert, but isn't Luxemburg a bit of a tax haven? If so, I would think that most people who move there, would definitely be able to afford to live here, but have moved because of their good financial status, don't you think?Chuck Norris can kill two stones with one birdThe only time Chuck Norris was wrong was when he thought he had made a mistakeChuck Norris puts the "laughter" in "manslaughter".I've started running again, after several injuries had forced me to stop0 -

Highest rate of income tax is only 40% and that's above €100,000 (2015 rates).
Kettle black springs to mind.........(yet again).0 -

Seems a bit marginal to me, it would take a lot more for me to move there (or maybe just a lot more wealth :rotfl: )Chuck Norris can kill two stones with one birdThe only time Chuck Norris was wrong was when he thought he had made a mistakeChuck Norris puts the "laughter" in "manslaughter".I've started running again, after several injuries had forced me to stop0 -

Which really makes one wonder why the number of posts from the OP in a UK forum?
Do they not have forums in Luxembourg, elsewhere in the low countries or in mainland Europe I wonder?
I saw this poster elsewhere described as a propagandist; I can see why.0 -

As far as the UK is concerned It mainly goes to people getting tax credits whilst they (claim) to work precisely 16 hours a week earning precisely NMW.
20% goes on pensions, 18% on healthcare before you get near "welfare", which covers much more than the Tax Credits that you deride.

I think you may have missed the 'irony' bit.
Don't get me wrong it's a pleasant enough place to spend a few days, but I'd certainly not want to live there.
It also has a bit of a problem with drunken Politicians.;)Bit like a c0ck Jean-Claude Juncker's former colleagues speak out about eurocrat
