Precisely how much much tax do you contribute to the UK Exchequer. As an expat cannot be very much. If you did contribute I would understand the title and purpose of your thread. Luxembourg must be a dull place to live if posting negatively on here is the highlight of your day.
Thank you. There will be no Brexit dividend for Britain.0 -

It's strange isn't it how Luxembourg doesn't actually provide much in the way in information regarding this - or indeed many other everyday things?
I wonder why?
Feel free to hunt and post your findings.
Let me see....

Guess you've lost interest in this thread now,
The answers being supplied in abundance on the first page alone very clearly show that.
Oh well, off to further multiple attempts at infecting the "If We Vote Brexit...." thread with pro-EU, anti-British propaganda instead then it seems.
Mostly equally unsuccessfully, I note.

Back to tax though; Sturgeon is advocating a 50p rate whilst Labour are promising no tax rises for 95% of the population.
So no extra funding if (ha ha ha) Labour do get into power then but Scotland - well who knows, judging by past SNP performance.0 -

Leaves Corporation Tax that will hit smaller UK companies hardest rather than the target of multinationals. Trump has yet to implement his policy of encouraging US companies back on shore.0 -
Within the thread "snap general election thread" I posed the question.
Looking at Britain from across the Channel I often wonder "where the money goes"
I read, and hear (from friends and family) that Britain has..
Poor infrastructure, roads, rail, airports bridges etc.
Bus and train travel is very expensive.
Educations is underfunded.
NHS is underfunded.
Prisons are underfunded.
On the other side of the balance sheet.
I hear from many people on Money saving expert that...
Income tax is too high.
VAT is too high.
Corporation Tax is too high.
So I ask myself. "Britain is one of the richest Country's in the World, where does the money go.
I had a few replies but it would be better if a new thread is started.
So I ask where does the money go. I now understand that Britain has a much lower tax take that FRANCE and German so actually the answer is Britain does not have as much money to spend on the above as our close neighbour.
What do you think.
I have certainly not lost interest in the thread. However those that have replied see none of the issues that I read about, or hear from UK residents or personally experience on my occasional visit.
You who are resident will know better as you,
Drive on the roads
Pay for a train, tube or bus ticket
Work or are resident in Prison
Work or use the NHS
Visit your GP
Work or have family that seek Education
As you are all happy with the standards you have in the UK and you believe that the Tax take is just right I leave you to enjoy it.There will be no Brexit dividend for Britain.0 -

Caught the train yesterday into London. An hours journey on intercity. Cost me £34 return. Train was clean and on time, both journeys. Totally stress free. Cheaper than driving and quicker. Compared to the days of British Rail a totally different experience.
I've been receiving ongoing treatment from the NHS since the end of last September. Both from my GP's surgery and the hospital. Cannot fault the care I've received. From A&E, to scans, tests and a biospy. I accept the fact that if my health issues at any point are considered non life threatening. Then I won't be top of the list somebody else will.
With the growth in population, roads here locally cannot cope. Though would you suggest demolishing buildings to make roads wider? Or is it down to people to choose to use public transport. Which to them is inconvenient.0 -
'' Where does our tax money go?'' - much of it down the drain I reckon. For example, billions wasted on the new NHS computer system. Lots of time and money spent on a project which was scrapped...0
