  • With regards to the vacuum cleaner, I tried it about 1/2 a hour later and it still didn't work. The ex then took a look and said that it was still hot and maybe it was the thermal shutdown. Am going to try it again this morning and see if it's working, hopefully it is.

Rach have a nice day with your god son.
    Shirley, fingers crossed here!!
scaredy cat sorry to hear about the car, but what a nice mechanic :) most would not do that. I am pleased my partner is an ex mechanic as most repairs we do ourselves, couldn't afford to run 2 cars if we didn't. Reminded me must find the Haynes for one of the cars, see if there is anything in about if wheel bearing needs to be pressed etc.

So far I have been in the shower, done a load fo washing but waiting to see what weather turns out like before deciding how to dry it, fed the boys and dogs, dogs been out, boys now playing nicely (for a change) so will do my list and drink my coffee. Quite funny as DS1 keeps singing 'Don't stop me now...' just that line of course :rotfl:

Declare war on boys room - pack what they are keeping, thinking best put them into boxes as we sort them then put what they are keeping back in the toy boxes, saves on cardboard boxes (don't have many) and means they can just go straight on toy racks
Delcare same war in boys computer room. Toys, games etc also in there.
Start packing more of boys clothes, keeping out what they will need in next 2 weeks.
Pack more kitchen stuff as I go.
Sort through freezer properly, meal plan for more days from what is in.
Move food from cupboards we are taking to the ones that are staying so DP can take them down.
Clear the benches we are taking so they can also be taken down.
Pack ornaments, most of which are still boxes from when we decorated.
    Do more plastering in hall.
[STRIKE]Phone DP to get him to put bin out at new house on his way back! Must remember this one!!! [/STRIKE]
[STRIKE]Phone my best friend, her baby due in 6 days, see how she is etc as haven't had time to go over this week. Going to be an honourary Aunty soon :D [/STRIKE] she's getting pains every 20 minutes, sounds like baby is on it's way :j

Will add the rest as I think of them
One day I might be more organised...........

    Sweep and mop lounge floor
    Clean skirting in lounge
    Vacuum sofas
    Put cover back on sofa

Clean 2 remaining rat cages out - one done one to go
Get 4 boxes - charity shop, [strike]freecycle[/strike], sell, [strike]return to owner[/strike], and clear stuff from understairs, storage room into the boxes.
Get smoke alarms put back up
    Sort through blanket box
    Clear bedside cabinets
    Vacuum bedroom
Tidy tools and stuff from spareroom away
Clean out empty cage and store away
Move books / comics / cds from study and storage to bookshelves on landing - in progress
    Clear paperwork on desk
Make a christmas card list .. do it on the pc so you don't lose it! Make a note of posting dates for friends/family overseas! - while doing it, check birthday's left for this year
    Make christmas present list
    Sort out bills
Order extra doors for rat cage
Contact mortgage guy as to why there is an admin fee

Wow!!!!!!!!!! Hello to you all :hello:

Not had a chance to post since Wednesday (I think!) and you lo add 12 pages to the thread!

Been at w*rk Thrus/Fri, yesterday it was swimming for A in the morning and then bed moving an building for them both. We had to move the cabinbed out of W's room to A's which had to be partially dismantled to get it through the doors. Argos delivered W's bed 5 mins before the due slot :D so was really pleased. Once Mum and Dad had gone I was going to do some other stuff but couldn't wait to start on W's bed! I opened it to check everything was there, moved it upstairs and started making it. Reckon it took about 3hrs but I did it all by myself, felt chuffed. The self tapping screws towards the end nearly got the better of me but I was determined to complete it myself.

The downside to all this is that the house is a total and utter bombsite, boxes of stuff all over the place and I can hardly get into our bedroom. But the kids have the beds they want and A's room is half decorated (she want's to paint one wall herself  )

About to get dressed and go to the shop to get some food and then we are off to my Aunts to try and sort out her BB connection.

Great to see you all so busy with cleaning/ebaying etc :) hugs, oohs and arghs as approp. Hope to catch up with you all tonight.

    Good night Denise :)

Well done AnW'sMum :D managing a bed on your own is not easy, done it once myself, great feeling however isn't it!

Not done much yet, have agreed with the boys to make a start on their room after lunch, spending some much needed time relaxing and talking to them first, been so busy haven't had much time for that lately. Popping on here while they've just gone to get some books to read, so best go and see which ones they have found.
One day I might be more organised...........
