OOOOOOOOoooooooooooooohhhhhhhh excitement this morning..
I have 2 boxes of Lakeland stuff, bit sad that the oven mate hasn't arrived but not too sad as you can imagine!... I also have post because my deliverers are not on strike.. bonus!! as it meant I have ... NEW SHOES!!!!!.. AND... Hubby rang up and paid off the old loan.. and instead of getting the 5245.02 they wanted they accepted £3700 so I've saved a huge chunk of mmoney there which has paid off a few other things.. must update my debt diary today..
Todays gleeful list..
Usual boring !!!!..
The children are tidying their own rooms this weekend so I'm going to try do a bit of mine.. and fill a couple of binbags for charity shop and maybe get a few more bits listed on ebay.. but some gitbag has nicked off with the memory card from the camera...ggrrrrr so I can't do any pics.. no nail, no shoes and no ebay!!!
I'm also going to have a 4th attempt at an edible carrot cake.. I WILL succeed this time!!! I have a Jamie Oliver recipe to try and a Mary Berry one (the latter I'll try first!) (I just got the mary berry christmas book as well.. scrummy!!!) I am going to learn to cook properly if it kills me!!! And believe me I may well kill off a few others in my endeavours!! lol

Coffee Break :coffee::coffee::coffee:
I'm getting there slowly. Windows & floors are going to have to wait to be cleaned as I've run out of cleaning cloths again (must have been with all the cleaning in the bathroom & kitchen yesterday  ) so I'm going to do some extra work in the garden - maybe I might even get around to rehoming my clematis (pot bound) and getting all the plants in pots into the garden before the frosts set in and kill them off! Already spent 30 minutes out there and cleared all the beds of dead/dying plants, dead leaves from the beds (only so I could clear out all the slugs and snails as well!) and it's looking fantastic although a little bald :rotfl:
Plan of action for the garden :- Remove excess canes & ties etc
- Clear empty pots (there were seeds planted in them but they haven't grown  )
- Plant out currently potted plants into flowerbeds
- Clear all pots & containers
- Clear rubbish
- Plant Clematis into a flowerbed
- Repot strawberry plants from hanging basket in former clematis pot
- Tidy everything up and away off the floor or under the table ready for winter.
- Sweep & swill paving.
- Defrost with hot lunch - toastie I think
- Collapse

Morning all.
Our social worker has just left and will be following up details of a little boy for us. :j
Today I want to have a ferret around the charity shops later but before I go I need to ....
Clean DS's room
Wash bathroom floor
I have a small amount of ironing to do as well at some point.
Also need to ring one friend and send emails to about 3 others.
Listed my first lot of ebay items last night. Didn't start until 10 and stayed up til midnight. Quite enjoyed it actually. Fingers crossed for a sale!
Thanks pigpen for suggesting we have a go.
It's lovely and sunny here so may even get time to nip out and tidy up the garden.
Have a good day everyone....it is not of more importance than daily life, which I have an enduring wish to make as useful and beautiful as possible.

Like all of you I spent most of yesterday listing on Ebay - I managed 27 items which was good for me. Unfortunately DH needed 4 tops cleaned for today, which he only remembered at 11:30 last night:mad: So by the time they had been through the quick wash, tumble dryer and iron, it was 3.00pm before I got to bed - I was not happy:eek:
So, a couple of matchsticks this morning, DS is off to school on a Jeans for Genes day, and I am finally catching up on all your news for the week. I am dreading nits coming home after hearing all your stories:eek:
No point in doing a list, as the whole of post 1 needs doing, as mostly all I have done this week is the dailies - But, I have been clearing the master bedroom and I have found carpet, and closed the door of the wardrobe for the first time in weeks!!! If I carry on at this rate, I will be stripping the wallpaper next week as planned (we have only lived here 10 years and havent decorated yet - yak!!!!!!!!!!)
So - have a good day everyone - I am off to parcel (I deliver parcels including the beloved Lakeland and we are not on strike unfortunately) So I am off to plod - at least the sun is shining:j :jLive on £4000 a year again for 20110 -
Right.. I've now sorted 3 tesco orders.. £30 each so I can use as many of the £10 vouchers as possible.. saved myself £40 so far and another 2 codes to use..
I've filled a jar with red cabbage to pickle so that can go in the shed to mature.. I have 2 jars of onions and one jar of red cabbage and have ordered some more pickling vinegar to come tomorrow so I'm going to prepare tonnes of veggies for picalilli and another 3lb of onions need peeling and I have some more red cabbage to go in jars.. All making pretty christmas gifts.. in well washed out coffee and jam jars!! lol
Carrot cake to bake and a third christmas cake will have to wait until my cherries come tommorrow.. I am considering a 'nutty' christmas cake for hubby who doesn't like fruit cake should be different.. with peanuts, hazelnuts, walnuts and almonds.. and maybe a few white chocolate chips for the funkiness of it all!!
AND I just found another nitty gritty comb.. it was inthe printer... I now have 2!!!!!!LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
I have cleaned out hoover, hoovered through and washed floors downstairs. Still working my way through childrens bedding, 3rd load in washing machine.
I'm waiting for the garage to phone to tell me my car is ready, then I need to go into town.
I found some bread flour in the cupboard the other day. I might try to make naan bread to go with our curry tonight, to use it up.
Will have a look for a receipe in a bit.
Oh, I've also tidied out DD2 and DD3's wardrobe and drawers under their bed. Looks great in there.
Can't think of anything else I need to do, will have some things to put away in loft and garage....and Niki's post reminds me I need to get out into the garden and give it a tidy. I need to put everything thats lying around in the garage or shed for when we are away. I also need to harvest crops and put other stuff in the compost. We have had no luck with our brassicas at all this year, hopefully next year will be better.
Just waiting for floor to dry, then I will crack on...0 -
Hiya
Just finished work. Going to ikea this afternoon for bookshelves, tea lights, tv unit and will try to leave it at that! I'll do the children's room tonight when they're home so they can help. Why is it that my normally totally mad 6 year old boy is really tidy and my quiet, girly 8 year old is as messy as her dad and that's saying something! She likes the idea of a tidy room but has problems putting it into practice.
This weekend will hopefully see the dining room finished. Lots of painting and putting in skirting boards and then building the bookshelves. We'll be losing 6 shelves but gaining 12 so i'll have loads of room for sorting all the books in the house. We have way to many with 26 shelves full of books and that doesn't include the childrens! Mission for next week is to charity shop 50 books. Yikes that's a lot.
Speak later when I let you know what I really bought at Ikea....goes off muttering I do not need all those clever storage ideas...I do not need....... xxJanuary budget

Got back control of my computer! DD's sorted out her MP3 player and it only went horribly wrong once and we managed to get it back
The washing is drying really well, glad I did all those towels on a hot wash now because the machine smells lovely and fresh (I put in some soda crystals and vinegar while they were doing to flush all the pipes through).
Lunch cooking now (pasta bol).0 -
I am STARVING!!! ..Tiddles is having munchies and is off to bed for a snooze.. then I can have food myself and get this carrot cake done..
