Afternoon all,
Finally got all the crab apples boiled for jelly...not sure how much juice is now in the freezer or indeed how many pounds of jelly I made..have been forcing a jar on everyone who comes in as I am sure that we will never use it all up...but couldn't waste the fruit either as it looks as if both blackberries and elderberries are going to be scarce here this year.
Anniestar....see what you mean about the rugby....OH is watching it, shaking his head and swearing like a trooper!
Elona...made some of that Lidl bread mix, very nice, I am the only one who eats rye bread here so mix is convenient, but have decided that I am never going to get on with the breadmaker, as I see it it is great for making dough but haven't yet completed a satisfactory loaf in it.
Going to brother for dinner as soon as match is over, have been warned to be there by six...only two minutes down the road so will be fine.
Has been bright here all day, sometimes even sunny, but I think that its cold...maybe just because I have a sniffle.
Nothing packed for tomorrow, have clothes there so just need a couple of things in case the evenings are chilly so can be thrown together in the morning.
Hugs to all who are suffering with aches and pains, not happy for other reasons, especially those who have not posted recently...we miss you.
Welcome to Penguin83...yes Haribo, I have the same feeling about those penguins...but we will survive.
Love to all, may not manage to post tomorrow, so will see you all on 9th le cúnamh dé.

I could never make a decent loaf in the breadmaker using a mix but had to use it to make dough and then use the oven to bake it.
Eventully got brave enough to use the raw ingredients in the BM book and after a couple of bad loaves found it got much better.
Once I get my new breadmaker cup I am going to start making more home made bread again."This site is addictive!"

Hello all,
we're back from visiting twink for the weekend and so are now contemplating work again in the morning - why do weekends have to go so fast?
We visited kyle and family before they head off for their holiday this week so hope they have a really good time. :j Twink gave me a jar of the nicest crab apple-elderberry-rosehip jelly: it goes really well on french bread and butter! Also got a trip to the car boot sale this morning where I didn't buy anything, but was great to have a look about as I've missed most of the sales this year.
The WM is on, and I think I'll be making a cuppa very soon. Need to get cracking with my sewing as it won't be long now until christmas, and I'm slightly nervous about how much more I have to doGot the shopping for the week done as well, so will need to get the sandwiches for tomorrows lunch put together at some point soon.
Take care all, lots of *hugs* available so take or leave as you please0 -

I think it's fair enough that you're feeling gutted. I thought Ireland was going to do much better too (I take it you were watching the Ireland-Argentina match). My team could possibly win - the All Blacks - but we've lost at the Semis and sometimes the Final so many times I no longer have any faith.
We had a yummy tea of casserole and dumplings. The children had never had dumplings before. Next time I may need to do double quantities! Mind, the dumpling was the only thing DS ate (he was meant to have two but I swiped one back). But he did have a big lunch of fish & chips (while recovering from his wasp sting, poor lad), so he's definitely not going to fade away.
Put the clean washing away and did the ironing, and then got brave and bought curtains for the new living room. They are black/gold/silver with some sheen, and very wide. I think it will work with the beige (sorry, biscuit) carpet and beige (sorry, magnolia) walls and beige (sorry, putty) leather suite! I hate beige. Also got a black/sand rug to put over said brand new beige carpet, in order to protect it. Now I just need 3 more sets of curtains and some light shades and we're nearly there.

Nicola (((hugs))) hope things improve for you soon and you go full term.
Hi :hello: to Penguin. Welcome - you'll love it here.
csarina that's really bad luck on the bridge. Don't know what to suggest to avoid it in future. Sorry
anniestar and meanmarie I was shouting just as hard for Ireland. I really wanted them to pull out all the stops and sink Argentina. What a shame they didn't.I just hope Scotland manage to beat Argentina now - though I won't be placing any bets on that.
While watching the rugby, I managed to run back and forth to kitchen and made some roasted veg soup and some twinks. Also managed to make dinner for DS and I.
DD is in the bad books as she went swimming with her friends just before lunch then called from one the friends' houses to ask if she could stay a little bit longer. Three or four other calls followed - "just an another hour, Mum?". Till I lost all patience and drove out to pick her up. Her friends told her that she really needs to learn to stand up to me!!!!!!! She's 11!!! Won't bore you with details of the inevitable lecture that followed. Suffice to say, I'm not flavour of the month right now. Don't think I will be losing much sleep on that.
Need to get DS and DD organised for tomorrow. xx"Bad planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on my part."
