Amazon prices and reviews

We were looking to buy a new dishwasher and like you do trawled the net to find the best deal. Having decided on the make and model we obviously checked out Amazon as well as others. Amazon were almost £200 dearer for the same, I wrote a review accordingly but surprisingly they would not print it.
Never rely on Amazon being the cheapest.

Why would they accept a review from someone who DIDN'T buy the product from them (or receive it for the purposes of a review)?
Also, including price comparisons breaches their review rules. You might not like it, but Their Playground, Their Rules.0 -

Why on earth would you expect that to be the case with every single product that they sell?0 -

I have reviewed books on Amazon which I didn't buy from them.0 -

Erm, why would I rely on Amazon being the cheapest? I think most shoppers look online and compare prices, look at sellers reviews and buy accordingly. I know I do and it seems that you do too. Shoppers buy from more expensive places for all sorts of reasons and most buyers aren't stupid. It's not up to you to police sellers of kitchen appliances and Amazon appear to agree.0 -
What a bizzare rant. Who said they had to be cheapest? Who doesn't shop around to find the cheapest?!0

But I assume you reviewed the actual book rather than complain about Amazon prices for that book. The op doesn't seem to have done that.0 -
Amazon built their market presence by undercutting. Now they have a dominant position, they are often more expensive than the competition.0

It wouldn't even occur to me to look at Amazon for a dishwasher - I still think of them as for books, CDs, DVDs, computer games and small electronics0

A large part of the cost of white goods is the delivery charge, so buying local or from a specialist with well distributed stock is likely to be cheaper and less hassle if there is a problem.
Also, Amazon's prices can change very rapidly. I decided to but some Simple solution cleaner , but needed another item to make up to £20 for free delivery. When I found an item, the price had risen by about £4, probably because the next priced seller, below Amazon, had sold out.
Since then , the cleaner plunged to £2 cheaper than it was before, so I bought two packs.0
