How does that contradict what I said previously? You didn't ask us if we thought the HGV driver would admit liability. You asked what lane is appropriate when taking the first exit off that roundabout and what I said (about it being the left lane unless marked otherwise) is a rule of the highway code.

Signals and position. When taking the first exit, unless signs or markings indicate otherwise

- signal left and approach in the left-hand lane
- keep to the left on the roundabout and continue signalling left to leave.
